On 18 October 2026, Princess Kako of Japan attended the 30th National Welfare Convention in Kyoto. This was Princess Kako’s first time attending the national welfare convention. During the ceremony, individuals who had made significant contributions to promoting understanding of hearing impairments were honoured.
The conference is organised by the Japanese Federation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, which brings together people with hearing impairments from across the country to promote greater understanding of hearing loss through interaction and educational activities.
Following the ceremony, Princess Kako spoke with people with hearing impairments who had contributed to raising awareness and promoting understanding of hearing-related disabilities. For the occasion, Princess Kako wore a red wool-georgette dress by Anayi.

You cannot beat Kako in red! She looks beautiful in this shade of red. Her dress is simple, almost plain, but lovely on her. I also love she added the red earrings for a bit of pizzazz.

Hate the dress on the model, love it on her. She just lights up anything.
