On Saturday, 17 October 2026, Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands was promoted to the rank of sergeant aboard the Statsraad Lehmkuhl, a Norwegian three-masted sailing ship docked in the Dutch port of Den Helder. The promotion took place during an “All Hands” ceremony, at which the entire crew was present. The ceremony included a traditional soaking with seawater, a custom associated with the rank.
Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands joined Defensity College in 2025 and is currently working with the Royal Netherlands Navy. Over the past week, she sailed aboard the Statsraad Lehmkuhl alongside first-year cadets. Built in 1914, the Norwegian three-masted sailing ship is regularly used as a naval training vessel.

Love the naval camouflage colours, suits the princess well. She is a good sport taking the sea water treatment
ReplyDeleteJ’aime cette couleur bleue qui change beaucoup de la kaki de certaines armées européennes !
ReplyDeleteBrave girl!
ReplyDeleteVery great????
DeleteThe Crew may have had a lot of fun at "soaking with seawater" CA ...
ReplyDeleteA great achievement. Well done to the Princess. She is pro active and doing well.
ReplyDeleteCarherine-Amelia ressemble beaucoup à la reine Maxima sur la 2e photo. Je déteste ces habitudes de jeter un seau d’eau sur la tête pour souligner un événement heureux. Josée.
