On 16 October 2026, Princess Anne attended the centenary rededication ceremony of the Guards Memorial at Horse Guards Parade in London, marking 100 years since the monument was unveiled to the public on 16 October 1926.
The memorial commemorates members of the Foot Guards who lost their lives in the First World War and was later expanded to honour those who fell in the Second World War. It also commemorates the 14,600 men who never returned home.
During the ceremony, Princess Anne unveiled the newly restored memorial and laid a wreath alongside the Major General and representatives of the seven Foot Guards regiments. The Princess Royal, who serves as Senior Colonel of the Foot Guards, also met 100-year-old John Barber, who served in the Irish Guards from 1944 to 1948.

The Brits execute ceremonies with great pomp and circumstance, it’s really wonderful and adds such meaning to these occasions.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fashion, I’m absolutely loving the windowpane pants with the navy coat and shoes. Very British and it looks perfect for the day.
J'adore voir la princesse Anne vêtue chaudement en train de flatter la tête d'un cheval !
ReplyDeleteI think this is an excellent outfit for P. Anne. It fits well and looks very suitable for the occasion. Her hair is looking good too. Some colour for sure and maybe a treatment to reduce the frizziness. Whatever she’s done, it makes a huge difference. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThis ceremony wow! on a whole nother level. How marvelous. The Princess Royal looks right in her element. I love the Navy coat combined with her trousers. The brooch, lovely.
ReplyDeleteNow here is a masterclass in how to be a royal! The Princess Royal is an amazing lady--dedication and duty just exude from her. She looks wonderful here--perfectly attired for the occasion as always with perfectly coordinated everything plus a touch of snazziness with those beautiful windowpane trousers.
