On October 19, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia attended the presentation of the Marcus Wallenberg Prize, which recognises scientific discoveries in forest industry research. As King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria were occupied with the state visit from Singapore, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia stepped in to represent them at the ceremony.
The 2026 Marcus Wallenberg Prize was awarded to Professor Holger Militz for his groundbreaking work on sustainable wood modification techniques and the industrial commercialisation of sustainable wood protection methods. During the ceremony, Prince Carl Philip presented the award to Professor Militz.
The Marcus Wallenberg Prize is awarded annually in recognition of scientific discoveries in forest industry research. The prize was established in 1980 by Stora Kopparbergs Bergslags AB, now Stora Enso, where Marcus Wallenberg (1899–1982) served as chairman of the board.

Sofia looks likes a moviestar from Hollywood!
ReplyDeleteWow! Sofia is charming and beautiful, and there is always something youthful about her!
ReplyDeleteMerveilleuse Sofia dans cette robe fluide qui épouse à ravir sa silhouette ; il est dommage que ses cheveux ondulés cachent ses boucles d’oreilles blanches !!
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely! I’m now waiting for the hair comments! 😉
ReplyDeleteOh yes! the hair. How dare she grow it so long and so beautifully? The cheek of her!
DeleteHa! Yes, the beautiful, long hair haters....Sofia and her hair look great.
DeleteYou two okay or fishing for attention?
DeleteOMG a beautiful woman with beautiful hair...grrrrr, she needs a trimmmmmm!!🤣
DeleteHa ha 15:38, 16:31, 16:39 … I do love it when we can manage to have a little chat back and forwards like this. Not sure why 17:50 chose to criticise you for fun and lightheartedness. There are some commenters who come here and squash lighthearted banter, we will never know why.
Delete17:50 nooo, not okay, sigh.
DeleteSofia has great hair that's too much to bear 😭
Lovely dress, drapes well, but a No to the shoes and the earrings are lost in her hair, which is also lovely.
ReplyDeleteTo me the dress is more like a summer beach party outfit and what is happening with her shoes? The thick sole is typically not considered appropriate (I admit I may have gotten the dress code wrong, might be more casual than the title suggests, in which case it’s probably fine). And yes, I do have a hair opinion, not aligned with several others, seems too much for a royal representing a country. Too much “look at my hair”, self-centred appearance IMO
ReplyDeleteSofía often chooses thick soles, her preference frequently. I don’t think there’s a “not considered appropriate” rule where she lives.
DeleteAs for “self centred” to curl your hair, I think that interpretation is not a logical or fair one. Wherever these royal ladies go on official duties they know they WILL be the centre of attention and much photographed, whether they want it or not. They don’t dress to be the centre, they dress as well as they can given that they know there’ll be a LOT of attention on them. I expect it’s often difficult.
What summer beach parties do you attend? Hardly a beach party outfit. Her dress is gorgeous!
Delete"Look at my hair" Too self centered. I think these youngish women should be allowed to wear what they want as long as it's appropriate without worrying about upstaging someone or being ripped apart. And I don't like what she's wearing.
DeleteI bet you liked Kates hair from yesterdays banquet. She was certainlly not a self-centered look at my hair gal. Right?
Delete11:37- someone is always bringing in Kate. Aversion, fixation, what is it?
DeleteOh, poor thing you missed that Kate had her hair down too? Not a look at me comment to be seen. The comparison is valid.
DeleteLove this look!! She looks stunning!! Jane
ReplyDeleteI don't like the dress or shoes here. Not her best look.
ReplyDeleteAbsolut the best look ever.
DeletePrincess Sofia...beautiful as ever!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely. I would prefer her hair shorter but this is her signature style just like Princess Anne has her signature style. That does not mean it is the best style and just because you can grow long locks, and someone gushes over your locks, that you should. But as far as fashion goes, the hair obscures the dress.
ReplyDeleteKlänningen är bara helt fel.Det är en utdelning och inte en gala.
ReplyDeleteHåret hänger och slänger.
Ett nej till utstyrseln.
Stackars du, alltid bara negativt att säga om Sofia.
DeleteSofias dental veneers looks good in the last picture, it’s fantastic what a dentist can do!
ReplyDeleteYes, I noticed that as well. Her smile looks wonderful.
DeleteThe Princess looks lovely. In saying that I don't like this type of gown, it fits well and she looks good in it, but too glittery for me tastes.
DeleteI love Princess Sofia's dress, at least something festive and not a dark dull dress. I also love her hair and I do not understand why so many commenters would like her to cut her hair shorter. It is not a privilege for Queen Mary or the PoW to have long curly hair other royal ladies can have it too.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. The hair comments don't make sense. Lots of royal women wear their hair like this. Dina
DeleteLove this whole look!!! I think the hair being down does well with the shiny dress. I do love the dress. The fit is really good on her. She looks stunning after having four children. Beautiful woman!! Jeanie
ReplyDeleteIt seems like It is Sofias own PR-group comments the pictures of her or maybe it is her self!
ReplyDeleteYou do realise at the same time you try to step all over people you piss on yourself telling the world who you are. Time to grow up and become an adult.
Delete03.37. I agree, the comments are so personal, defensive!
DeleteGreat look for Sofia, Nice to see her and Carl Philip together at this event.
