At the invitation of King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tô Lâm and his spouse, Mrs Ngô Phương Ly, are paying a three-day state visit to Denmark. The visit marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Vietnam.
On the evening of 20 October 2026, President Tô Lâm and Mrs Ngô Phương Ly hosted a reception and concert at Glyptotek in Copenhagen to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Vietnam. King Frederik X and Queen Mary attended the event at the Glyptotek. For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a prune-coloured cady midi dress by Roland Mouret, featuring a floral brooch detail.

Roland Mouret se trompe rarement. Cette couleur associée aux bijoux est splendide.
ReplyDeleteTrue, this designer never fails, always elegant!
DeleteWhat is it about the king that he is handsome but looks frumpy. Are his suits too tight that jacket pulls at the button, or is the button placed too high. Tie not straight. Mary looks very nice with just a touch of sparkle. First Lady lovely.
ReplyDeleteHe IS handsome and normally dressed just right. In this case I think the trouser style is quite soft and they are a little crinkled but it’s overall a good suit.
Delete09:49 - This is a major problem with Frederik. He was raised to be the heir but apparently was never taught how to walk & stand, or even dress, properly (although Joachim seems to manage it quite well). In these photos his tie is crooked & his jacket is a mess. Married-in Mary presents herself more elegantly/royally than Fred does (same with Mr & Mrs Vietnam). ~~Ruthie
DeleteMary is stunning!
ReplyDeleteMagnifique robe
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary is one of the best woman who knows what to wear !
ReplyDeleteI think Queen Mary looks better with her hair out of her face . It shows more her pretty face.
ReplyDeleteA great Autumnal color on Mary but I have never been a fan of uneven sleeves.
ReplyDeleteCate.
QM is extremly stylish..once again ❤️
ReplyDeleteFabulous colour for Mary, and her hair a little looser looks great. I would love to straighten Fred’s suit jacket!
ReplyDeleteShe looks tired.
ReplyDeleteQM looks tired?
DeleteOh my; You should se me 🤭
And me!
DeleteMe too!
DeleteIndeed she is very tired.
Delete04:31 You are her lady in waiting, right?
DeleteWonderful, as we would expect from Mary.
ReplyDeleteAnother standout look from QM. It’s rare that I say a dress looks better on the royal than it does on the model, but for me this is definitely one of them. The color is perfect for Fall.👌
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Very stunning, elegant and beatiful first Lady of Vietnam!!!
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary always looks fantastic. Such an expert at dressing, posture, etc
ReplyDeleteQ M has a good stylist!
ReplyDeleteEn cette période automnale, Mary a su choisir cette couleur Bordeaux !
ReplyDeleteVieatman is best.
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks divine, fits well, gorgeous color suiting her well. The style and design is very flattering. The diamond brooch, oh! beautiful as are her earrings. Her shoe game is literally sensational! Love these shoes, her clutch is great, blending well with the shade of her dress. The caped like coat, wonderful. She is a expert on perfect attire, always elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe brooch is part of the dress. Sadly not diamonds!
DeleteYes, diamonts.
DeleteQueen Mary is gorgeous here! I believe I have heard that her favorite color is purple and she looks fabulous in it. Another Roland Mouret for the win--his designs are so beautiful. Love that Mary wore her hair up and added sparkle power with some gobsmacking diamonds. Sweet of King Fred to wear a purple tie. He is one of the best looking men anywhere but heavens he is hot mess at times--and this is one. Why do I have the feeling Mary has given up trying to fix his ties, make sure his suits fit right, etc? She loves her guy and maybe the messy Fred is just endearing. Mrs. Ly looks lovely again.
ReplyDeleteJanet
It is actually Marie who said that purple is her favorite colour.
DeleteKing needs to pull his pants up a bit.
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary was an absolute standout throughout this state visit and the berry coloured dress plus the gorgeous brooch were the cherry on the cake.
ReplyDeleteHowever, what caught my eye even more the outstanding array of her clothes was jer dewy makeup.
It is not often I have seen her skin so glowing like on this occasion.
She used this " new" approach to makeup from the very beginning of the visit ( see the Vietnamese Couple's arrival at the Airport).
Giving light and definition to her cheek bones was a sharp move serving the double purpose of sculpturing a part of her face while creating a soft-focus effect if seen from afar.
Excellent dark smokey eyes technique paired with the rosey and glossy shade of her lipstick.
Mrs Ly lovely.
Oh sorry, I pushed the publish button before signining my comment and entered another one soon afterwards !

I noticed a " new"(?) approach to a kind of dewy makeup.
Giving light and definition to her cheekbones served the double purpose of sculpturing a part of her face while creating a soft- focus effect if seen from afar and especially in the natural light of the day
(see the Vietnamese Couple's arrival at the airport).
I also noticed an effective contrast of the dark smokey eyes technique against the dainty, rosey and glossy shade of her lipstick in the pics above.
This is stupid.
DeleteSo nice read to read your comment about QM’s make up: you really know make -up and you know what you’re talking about🌸
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, @ Anonymous 17:53.
DeleteI had to learn fast due to my job
(though I am not a makeup artist).
The color is good but the fit doesn't work to me.
ReplyDeleteDon't like the coat and the shoes don't work.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are matching very good.
