On October 15, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over a literary dinner in Barcelona celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Premio Planeta de Novela, followed by the presentation of the 75th edition of the award. The prize was awarded to Chilean writer Isabel Allende for her novel La hora antes del alba (The Hour Before Dawn).
Established in 1952 by José Manuel Lara, the Premio Planeta de Novela aims to promote Spanish-language literature and bring the work of Spanish and Latin American authors to a wider readership. It is one of the most prestigious literary awards in the Spanish-speaking world. For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a black maxi dress by Sybilla.
