From October 19 to 21, Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam is paying a three-day state visit to Sweden at the invitation of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. The President is accompanied by his wife, Jane Yumiko Ittogi, as well as representatives of the Singaporean government and business community.
As is customary, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia welcomed President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and his wife at the Royal Stables. The royal couple and the presidential couple then travelled in a ceremonial carriage procession from the Royal Stables to the Royal Palace. In the Victoria Drawing Room, the Singaporean guests were welcomed to Sweden by Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip.

I like this trend of headbands instead of hats or fascinators for the royal ladies, much more modern.
ReplyDeleteWhere I live, hats are not “not modern”, they are used all year in various forms for heat, cold, look cute, look dressy etc. Never been out of fashion. I do like Silvia’s headband in this case too!

DeleteNew alliances...why???
ReplyDeleteWhile I have no inside knowledge in this instance, putting 2 and 2 together.....the global oil shortage shows no signs of going away. Former Middle East sources of oil cannot be relied on. So countries everywhere are wisely seeking new trade agreements with new countries, particularly in Asia. Lyra
DeleteSilvia's outfits lately have been consistently delightful, but I am not a fan of this one. The overall white palette, and there's so much of it, seems lacklustre compared to the vibrancy which colour always brings to Silvia's looks.
ReplyDeleteThe black accessories and the black-and-white of the dress underneath probably look really sharp together when the coat is removed -- but with this featureless, raincoat-like outer layer on top, the black accessories have nothing to relate to. A rare miss for me. Lyra
