On 19 October 2026, Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg visited the Slate Museum in Haut-Martelange, in the municipality of Rambrouch. Located on the site of a former slate quarry, the museum bears witness to more than 200 years of Luxembourg’s slate-mining industry. The first underground mines in Martelange opened at the end of the 18th century.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Friends of the Slate association has worked to develop the Slate Museum on the former slate-mining site in Haut-Martelange. The association works closely with the government, which has officially owned the site since 2003. It is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of the mines and buildings.
During a tour of the “Johanna” visitor route, the Grand Duchess learned about this major industry in the Greater Region, which, alongside the steel industry, reached its peak in the early 20th century. The highlight of the tour lies 42 metres underground, where the impressive former slate-extraction chambers can be explored.

Black is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the facion.
ReplyDeleteFashion. Well, I see a safety hat, a pair of trousers, and a warm padded jacket by Burberry so far. Might be fashion enough for a visit like that.
Delete11.42 each time you ask that it makes less sense.

DeleteCette tenue noire est appropriée pour effectuer cette visite !]]
ReplyDeleteStephanie looks adorable in her outdoor gear.

Paloma.
Humour is always appreciated Paloma! I think in this case they were probably advised to wear dark colours as the risk of getting dirty down there is pretty high. All mines are by their nature likely to leave you smudged and marked in dust if not dirt.
DeleteHer jacket should be a tick wider.
ReplyDeleteIt’s looks perfect, maybe your jacket needs 2 size wider.
DeleteI love it as she’s chosen it. I find it very flattering. Even if harder to fit a spare jumper under it for rewears
DeleteI agree
DeleteGreat colour and jacket shape for Stephanie. If that were copied in a lovely light wool, could make a perfect suit jacket for her too. The length, where it’s fitted, where it’s not, the zip, the collar, all very flattering. And what a very fun visit!
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteButtons are about to pop, not sure who is advising her to wear tight clothes (never a good look on a royal, particularly uninspired for her figure). Not sure if the event would have been a suitable one for a fashion statement, her style continues to lack the kind of attention that would suggest she cares. Too bad
ReplyDeleteI think she absolutely cares and tries hard. I find it very unfair to suggest she doesn’t.
DeleteAnon 18;15, I agree with you. Sometimes overweight people think if they would wear clothes few sizes smaller they would look slimmer. She needs ALL her clothes to be few sizes larger.
DeleteI think she dresses with care, she is just not obsessed with fashion. She is comfortable with herself, not out to impress. Now having said that there are times that the choices don’t showcase her in the best light, but she is always attentive to the people around her.
