I love this family, but they are so strict on protocol in public, they look seperate from one another. They scarf adds just the right amount of colour. Aiko’s shoes have a little bling on the vamp. Getto seem the family together

Aiko’s jacket is way too big, and the whole outfit makes her look like a grandma.

  3. What a lovely pantsuit, the Empresses accessorises beautifully with this colorful silk scarf. Very elegant.

I'm getting tired of seeing the Empress always wearing the same pattern of pantsuits. Mind you, the Imperial Family seems to have a lot of official duties that just involve watching performances or exhibitions.

Well perhaps this is her signature look , just like Camilla and her dress, the late QE with her dress, coat, hat.

The British royal family also wears the same type of clothes over and over. No problem if they're comfortable with that.

I love seeing the Imperial family more often. Do they do more visits than before or is there more coverage on this site now? I wonder.

So don’t comment. I find it unfair to say you are tired of what another human wears! Don’t you often wear the same clothes? Isn’t that normal? She may be Royal but she is a human.

Maybe the Empress wears pantsuits so often because skirts get wrinkled too easily when she sits down?

The painting sounds beautiful the way you describe them.

Aiko rarely works alone; she and her parents always stick together.

I have indeed heard that Aiko has a low number of official duties. It seems that both Masako and Aiko have a habit of being late, which is reportedly the reason why they receive fewer requests for public appearances. As proof of this, Masako has almost no solo official duties.

Masako was late and Charles looked annoyed, didn't he? I was surprised to see her wearing a mask during the parade.

  8. Well, the Edo Period is of great importance to Japan. It started with the Shogunates in the early 17th century, and basically marked the entrance of Japanese society and culture into a much more - well, yes sort of - modern era. Until the Meji era, of course, where things turned up a notch again, and which then ultimately ended the Edo Period. It is understandable for the Imperial Family to have a particular interest in the arts of that time. As this is in coordination/collaboration with a foreign (British Museum, I understand) collection of Japanese arts, the presence of the Emperor, Empress, and Princess makes a lot of sense.
