On October 29, 2026, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako hosted the 2026 Autumn Garden Party at Akasaka Imperial Gardens in Tokyo. Crown Prince Fumihito, Crown Princess Kiko, Princess Kako, Princess Aiko, Princess Akiko, Princess Mikasa, Princess Hisako, and Princess Tsuguko attended the annual autumn garden party.
The female members of the Imperial Family wore traditional Japanese attire, while the Emperor and Empress greeted guests, including Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. Approximately 1,800 people from various fields were invited to the garden party.
The Emperor and Empress approached and spoke with several guests, including actor Kotaro Yoshida, astronaut Takuya Onishi, who spent an extended period aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and became the third Japanese astronaut to serve as its commander, and Tomoko Namba, founder of DeNA.

All the ladies look wonderful in their ravishingly beautiful kimonos ❤️.
ReplyDeleteYes they certainly do!
DeleteVery tonal.i almost wish one of them rebelled
ReplyDeleteI am always in awe of Kimonos, they are quite magnificent. Not sure if they are small embellished pieces or embroidery, crafted brilliantly. I don't have a favorite, each one looks superb. All are, highly attractive, color and adornment on fabrics, perfection. The up styles, with slightly longer hair adds to the elegance. The lady in the black suit, with strand of pearls, looks exceptionally good, the suit looks great, fit and style suiting beautifully. Her hose are a nice shade, not too dark. The perfect finishing touch was the gorgeous pearl necklace. Looks to be a small something? brooch?
How interesting! Thank you for explaining that.
DeleteI also see a similarity to both Aiko's and Kako's choice of kimono. I understand part of it from them both being single young women of a similar age and kimono styles for their demographic, but also the colours and patterns on the fabric are very similar when they might have chosen something slightly different yet still within the autumnal colour theme of all the ladies.

These are exquisite designs, so beautiful and all different prints
ReplyDeleteIs it not Princess Akiko who holds the Princess Mikasa title now ?
ReplyDeleteAnd Princess Yoko was present, too.
Maguy
