The President of the Republic of Finland, Alexander Stubb, and his wife, Mrs Suzanne Innes-Stubb, are making a two-day State Visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on 29 and 30 September 2026, at the invitation of Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie. The first day of the State Visit will end with a State Banquet at the Grand Ducal Palace.
On 29 September 2026, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess officially welcomed the Finnish President and Mrs Innes-Stubb at the Grand Ducal Palace. President Stubb and Mrs Innes-Stubb later laid a wreath at Luxembourg’s National Monument of Solidarity. For the occasion, Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a bespoke lemon single wool crepe dress by Emilia Wickstead.

They have outfits that go really well together. Stephanie is having a beautiful dress that suits her. Suzanne's dress has very interesting sleeves. She always has very original clothes. I like that the men are having matching ties and suits.

Lovely yellow dress on Stephanie. Her updo is really pretty and elegant. I like the color of Mrs. Innes-Stubbs’ dress, but the bodice looks like it is perhaps too big, and the hem seems oddly bunched/not lying flat.

The First Lady 's dress is a beautiful colour which suits her a but I don't care for the monk - robe sleeves...
I wish that the husbands would wear ties matching their wives' dresses, like King F. and Emperor N., but oh well.......

ReplyDeleteWe could almost make a "who wore it best" between Mr Stubb and the Grand Duke... :-). I like the dress of the first lady best, but there seems to be a malfunction with the hem line, perhaps a last minute problem? The Grand Duchess looks nice, even if I am not sure about the draping... It looks a bit stiff to me.

ReplyDeleteNot a real fashion moment here. GD Stephanie's dress is pretty but I don't think that particular style is very flatering for her figure. It looks large and makes her look large and the proportions seem off. Floor length I think would do the style more justice, to me it's just too much. The First Lady's dress seems to be suffering from a too quick hemming and it almost looks like the pins are showing! The dress is again too huge for the wearer and smothers her. It too may be better in a longer length but it really isn't doing much for her either in the color, fit or style. Come and get me ladies, but I don't care for either look.

DeleteTo me the best dressed lady is the one on the portrait (photo N°8). I think it is GD Guillaume's grandmother the mother of GD Jean his father.
GD Stephanie's dress is in a good colour for her, but the dress worn by the model looks much better because it is a long dress and the model has a complete different morphology than GD Stephanie. Her dress would have looked better a bit longer and with the opening in the back of the skirt like on the model. The draping on the neckline is too big for the GD. A V-neck in the back would have been better too. A piece of fabric hanging down on one side would have been enough. I bet she didn't order a bespoke dress but bought it and had it changed by a taylor. Better buy the fabric and tell a good taylor what she wants and ask what he or she thinks is the best shape for her.
The first lady looks good, but there is something wrong with the hemline of her dress on the first pictures. Later on it looks a bit better. The sleeves are too big.The color suits her.
Well articulated. I wasn't excited by the outfits of either of the lady as well.
DeleteI agree with almost all of your comments so thank you for writing a long post. The scarf widens the dress, especially when the length is cut shorter, and that rarely flatters anyone’s silhouette.

A very nice silhouette for her, not too tight and not too much fabric on the dress itself. I am not a fan of the ‘scarf’ but it works for this occasion

Stephanie looks wonderful in this dress and bright yellow. The design of the dress is very flattering for Stephanie and the color is wonderful for her beautiful complexion. Her up do is fabulous--very elegant. Mrs. Innes-Stubbs is as always beautifully dressed. Her style and fashion choices are always so great to see.
