The Duchess of Edinburgh is visiting the Republic of Zambia from Monday, 14 September to Friday, 19 September, to celebrate the relationship between Zambia and the UK. On 18 September, the Duchess of Edinburgh and High Commissioner Rebecca Terzeon visited Maramba Primary School in Livingstone. The Duchess and High Commissioner met young people and coaches supported by Sport in Action and Volunteer Zambia.
Afterwards, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited a war memorial dedicated to Zambian residents who died during the First World War while resisting the German East Africa Campaign and travelling to fight in Europe.
The Duchess then visited Zambezi National Park and learned about the ways in which the Zambian government and the non-profit organisation Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) are working to combat threats facing the country’s most endangered animals. The Duchess also met members of Wildlife Crime Prevention, who, with support from the UK Darwin Initiative, are working to promote fairer, safer and more inclusive ranger workplaces.

I do care if people here say they love one of the royals, that’s fine, it has its place here too.
DeleteI can't say anything positive about the Soler dress. The style and the print are both hard on the eyes. The lovely green top paired with the comfortable looking white slacks are an improvement for the day's outfits.
ReplyDeleteI can. It’s highly patterned and fits in well to the African vibe and above all can cope with the red sand… which recolours everything if you’re not careful there especially out joyfully playing with kids in the dust. Go Sophie, you look so vibrant and kind on these trips!
DeleteInteresting. I am not a fan of Sophie’s style at all but absolutely love the dress. As always with Sophie I wish she would wear her dresses shorter. The white jeans , whilst fine, don’t seem the appropriate colour for the occasion - a more ‘safari’ brown/ green would be better, but she looks lovely. LRB
DeleteShe is not rolling in the sand with the children. More royals have been visiting African countries without fashion experts having to explain their outfits with whatever kind of local vibe and sand colour ... this is simply irrelevant. This dress is simply unattractive, style and colour alike (and the length makes it worse). - The green blouse is, however, really nice, while the white trousers are, for a change, just a bit on the too short side. But the green-white outfit is much better.
Delete15:16 if you spend time in the African dust as I have, you’ll quickly find out it’s not irrelevant at all. You can have a different opinion but please don’t diminish mine.
DeleteNot sure about the Soler dress but I think it works well with visit--and it seems to move well in terms of the activities seen in these photos. I love, love, love the green blouse and white trousers together! In fact, I love the blouse. It looks wonderful on Sophie. I even checked out the price--and it's $42. Talk about affordable!

I don’t think the color and length of the dress look particularly good on Sophie. I like the crisp, brighter green and white combination of the pants and top on her very much. Her hair looks much better worn down with her shorter haircut (which I love on her).
