The Duchess of Edinburgh is undertaking a five-day official visit to Zambia from 14 to 19 September 2026. During the visit, the Duchess will meet communities and partners working in education, health, women’s enterprise, conservation and culture. I love the beautiful vibrant green or chartreuse dress. It looks divine on Sophie. The style looks comfortable and cool for hot & humid weather.
ReplyDeleteThe style does look cool and comfortable.
DeleteLusaka is 1200 m above sea level and coming out of the cold dry season so not particularly humid and lovely weather not too hot.
Das Kleid ist wirklich bezaubernd in seiner scheinbaren Schlichtheit. Weiß jemand, ob Amanda Ross noch Mode produziert?

Well very nice choices, the blazer fits her so well, the green dress a good colour for her
ReplyDeleteThe best she has ever looked! Bold colors are good for official engagments!
ReplyDeleteShe looks very nice like both outfits. She is far away from home. Zambia is not next door. I wish her success on this trip.

I like the simple, clean lines of the first outfit shown in these pictures on Sophie (the jacket and pants outfit). I don’t think the color and fabric of the dress is as flattering.

Two great outfits on the Duchess. The VB jacket is the perfect fit and color/fabric. The bright green dress seems like a departure from anything else in her wardrobe and I love it! I personally prefer the aqua blue color on the sash but I just love that she’s wearing a contrasting color.
ReplyDeleteLove the green dress, and especially that she chose to wear the low neck open.
ReplyDeleteLove the purple waist tie.
Love the VB jacket! So smart and well cut for Sophie's shape.
Love the top she is wearing under the jacket.
Don't love the wide trousers - but because they are black, they actually look fine.

PS Double love her shorter hair style.
Love the pant outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove the pant outfit.
ReplyDeleteQueen Sophie.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is a perfect fit for Sophie! well styled, too. Lyra
ReplyDeleteDuchess Sophie is looking quite good in both outfits. The only thing I don't like are her espadrilles. They seem too wide for her feet. I don't know where she buys them, but they are certainly not coming from Spain. When I compare with the espadrilles worn by Queen Letizia and her daughters and with mine which are imported from Spain to sell in the shoe shops where I live.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you see that makes you say “they definitely don’t come from Spain”? If they are not, what does that mean?
DeleteI see a lot of people say they don’t like her espradilles but I think they are her preferred outdoor or warm weather shoes so she probably finds them a good balance of dressy plus comfortable. I think they’re completely fine.
The V Beard jacket looks great, well fitted and smart. I love this jacket, I would wear this no problem! The Navy ensemble worn underneath I like. This ensemble looks fabulous. I like the addition of her subtle necklace, good to see her wearing one. Well combined and uncomplicated outfit.
ReplyDeleteHer green dress with purple shade of fabric belt, I love this contrasting color combination, very attractive and different. I prefer this color as opposed to the previous wear of the pale blue colored belt. Again nice to see a necklace and earrings of substance. I love, the cuff style bracelet, this looks wonderful again very effective. Her hair shorter looks so good, I love it!
The traditional outfit of the lady in the first 4 photos, these combined colors look absolutely beautiful, I love this combination. She looks beautiful.
Très jolie robe verte - Magnifique association des parties de la tenue de la dame où l'orange vif domine ; l'imprimé de la jupe se retrouve dans son turban !
ReplyDeleteAmazing Sophie!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am of the same opiniion as Royal Watcher, departing from the general positiveness. The first outfit is almost a success, except the colour mismatch and those shoes. The jacket is beige-brown-dark blue, the dark blue top is really beautiful with it. But I am not sure that the trousers have the same colour as the top, and if this is the case, then this colour disharmony disturbs me much more than the extreme width and silkiness of the trousers (for this jacket too silky). - The dress: the ruffled neckline and the ruffled-puffy sleeves are here again ... her style, not a good one. The colour is not really good on her (or, maybe, anyone?). But even worse is her shoe choice in both cases - the chunky whitish plateau shoes with the trousers and her favourite summer shoes with the dress - both are quite a disappointing style mismatch for the outfits.
ReplyDeleteI really like the first outfit. Very practical and easy to wear as she moves around visiting various initiative. On the green dress, I don't see any ruffles, just a bit of softening of the neckline and sleeves; yes very much her style, which I like (people wearing what they like wearing). I don't love the purple tie on the green but I suspect (a) it looked better in real life, and (b) it's perfect in the context of the very bright local fabrics on women around her. It's a working visit and I think she gets it right. It's not a fashion outing.
