On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands visited the municipality of Urk in the province of Flevoland. During her visit, she met residents, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and young people who contribute to the close-knit community every day. The visit programme included visits to the Baron van Ghent care facility, VCU Robotics, the youth café ’t Kuppien, and the De Poort Church Centre.
Queen Máxima began her visit at Baron van Ghent, part of Zorggroep ZONL. The care facility provides accommodation for people who can no longer live independently, including people with dementia. She then visited VCU Robotics, a company that develops innovative applications for the fishing industry. The visit concluded at De Poort Church Centre.
