Queen Máxima is in New York from 21 to 24 September for the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. On Wednesday, 23 September 2026, Queen Máxima met with Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori. The Queen also met with Wall Street Journal CEO Almar Latour at Journal House. For her third working day in the United States, Queen Máxima wore a dark blue and black dress by the fashion house Natan.

ReplyDeleteLooks lovely doesn’t it. I love how she chooses which days to perfect it and which says to leave it well enough. I don’t see a need to constantly apply heat and chemicals to make hair perfectly straight.

DeleteA casual dress, light and airy, largely sleeveless, a ribbon belt... doesn´t look like business to me. And shouldn´t she bring a jacket rather than a shawl? And a briefcase rather than a purse? It always makes me chuckle when VIPs, who own all the fanciest bags in the world, are unable to find a suitable business bag when attending high-profile summits. Walking around carrying a stack of lose papers doesn´t look especially professional.
The Peruvian president is in professional business attire.
Yes22:28 it’s completely acceptable business attire especially in the UN world. Suits and jackets are typical for men but women have a broad range of completely acceptable clothes, especially bearing in mind the truly international attendance and including national dress styles too. Maxima looks fine.

ReplyDelete@Anon 22:28, I think Maxima looks perfectly dressed for the occasion, in any case, these days business attire can vary a lot. I am happy she has ditched the super high heels and looks more comfortable like this on a hot late summer day.
