In her capacity as Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Queen Mathilde is attending the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. On the first day of her stay, Queen Mathilde of Belgium held several meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
Queen Mathilde met with Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and held a meeting with Alexander De Croo, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Her programme also included several speaking engagements on topics including humanitarian diplomacy, women, peace and security, mental health among young people, and the protection of children in the digital world.
I love the emerald colour of the pantsuit and I don't mind the rather quirky and unique style of both the pants and the top. Mathilde can wear almost anything because of her great height. I like the elegant simplicity of the second oufit. The bold print of the skirt is toned down by the classic white blouse.
ReplyDeleteI am not very good at describing fashion in detail, but my feeling here is that queen Mathilde is overpowered by this suit, too fussy, although the colour is striking.

ReplyDeleteI always wonder how far they must walk in NYC. I'd assume Mathilde (and Maxima) are driven directly into the UN's headquarters by car but they both always go on foot in these very high heels. Maybe they stay in the same hotel, one that is very close?
Mathilde wears pants beautifully, and this pants outfit is a delight; I enjoy these creative ensembles which don't have the blazer which one would usually expect in a pants suit.

Great emerald green color on the Queen. The top design feels more evening than daytime, but maybe she was going to a nice lunch instead of a work meeting.
ReplyDeleteThis skirt is one of my favorites and the pairing with a classic white shirt is perfect for the occasion and season.
I like the green color on Mathilde, but the top looks too bunched, for lack of a better description, with the neckline fabric, sleeve folds/gathers, and waistband. I like the relative simplicity of the white blouse and red and white skirt, although the skirt looks rather high-waisted.

ReplyDeleteWonderful ensemble, the color green, this shade is sublime. Beautiful fit and style for the Queen. The pants fit like a glove. I love the design of the top, its unique and different. Really eye catching, I love this. Love the color of her matching shoes and clutch, perfect to offset the green shade of her ensemble.
