In her capacity as Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Queen Mathilde is attending the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. On the first day of her stay, Queen Mathilde of Belgium held several meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
Queen Mathilde met with Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and held a meeting with Alexander De Croo, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Her programme also included several speaking engagements on topics including humanitarian diplomacy, women, peace and security, mental health among young people, and the protection of children in the digital world.
