On 16 September 2026, Princess Madeleine welcomed 13-year-old Bonnie Malmborg Marbenius from Aneby to the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Due to various symptoms related to a serious, as-yet undiagnosed illness, Bonnie is completely dependent on a wheelchair and requires assistance with many of the most basic activities of daily life.
As a young child, Bonnie ran, jumped and played just like other children. But when she was four or five years old, her balance began to deteriorate, and since then, her mobility has gradually worsened. After a much-needed summer break, Bonnie has just started seventh grade. Through Min Stora Dag, she had wished for a special day at the Royal Palace.

Madeleine's outfit is very flattering -- elegant yet relaxed (although her feet do not look happy in those shoes!)
Re the dark monochrome look: I've seen Madeleine wear this a few times lately; to me it seem a bit heavy for her complexion, and detracts from her bright blue eye colour. Pairing this burgundy with a lighter colour top or skirt (that peachy velveteen top could look great) would make such a difference. Lyra

ReplyDeleteDark chocolate brown is the fashion color for autumn this year. Princess Madeleine's outfit is lovely but I'd replaced the lace skirt by one in a classic wool. The lace skirt I'd rather wear together with a beautiful top as an evening outfit. The black shoes she is wearing here without stockings are looking worn out completely. They have no form anymore and are much too wide for the princess' feet.

DeleteBonnie has fantastic golden hair and Madeleine‘s autumn outfit is casually elegant but needs some light accessories to enhance the look, like a pearl necklace or even costume jewellery.

Both Madeleine and the guest of honor are wearing lovely outfits that coordinate well with the palace decor and background. I like the pretty straps on Madeleine’s shoes.
