Japanese Princess Kako visited Tottori Prefecture to attend the National High School Sign Language Performance Koshien. On 27 September 2026, Princess Kako attended the opening ceremony of the 13th National High School Sign Language Performance Koshien, held at Torigin Bunka Kaikan in Tottori City. She delivered remarks in sign language for approximately five minutes.
On the morning of 26 September 2026, Princess Kako arrived in Tottori. She visited Wakasa Station on the Wakasa Railway, which runs through eastern Tottori Prefecture. Princess Kako then visited a local craft museum, where she tried her hand at painting a clay bell decorated with a motif from the Japanese zodiac.

ReplyDeleteIt"s always lovely to see her attend something like this. Sign language is something that doesn't get much attention from other royals I think, although it's essential for communication.
It was her mother, Princess Kiko, who first taught sign language to Princess Kako. Her older sister, Princess Mako, was also skilled at sign language. That said, I believe Princess Kako is the most proficient of them all within the Imperial Family.

These outfits suit her beautifully. The 1st one, I love its unusual, I love the top half especially. The blue ensemble, wonderful. The skirt of her outfit looks marvelous, feminine and elegant. The swish on movement really lovely. I love the two toned color of the skirt of her outfit. The jacket looks splendid, this length is attractive. Love the blue shoes and Navy bag. Always a real joy to see her.

ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are so beautiful and suit the princess very much. To my taste the pleated skirt is a bit too long. The red dress is a bit shorter and I would have made the pleated skirt at the same length.
