On Tuesday, 22 September 2026, Princess Caroline of Hanover took part in the Saint Michael’s Day celebrations, the traditional festival of French paratroopers, alongside the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment and the Carabiniers du Prince at Place Nationale in Montauban. Princess Caroline has been the patron of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment for fourteen years.
For the 2026 edition, all members of the 17th RGP who were present in Montauban. The symbolic and important event was presided over by General Jean-Christophe Béchon. Celebrated each year around 29 September, Saint Michael’s Day is the traditional celebration of French paratroopers. Saint Michael is regarded as the patron and protector of airborne troops and embodies values such as commitment, brotherhood and remembrance.
