On Friday, 11 September 2026, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, the daughter of Princess Caroline, announced her engagement to her long-term boyfriend, Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, in a series of photos she shared on Instagram, showing her yellow diamond engagement ring. The Princess captioned the Instagram post “The Marriage Plot” with heart emojis.
Born in Lower Saxony, Germany, Ben-Sylvester moved to Monaco with his family as a child. Princess Alexandra and Ben-Sylvester were first spotted together in public in late 2016 and made their relationship official around 2017. Princess Alexandra and Ben-Sylvester share a love of sports. Princess Alexandra was a competitive figure skater, while Ben-Sylvester played competitive basketball in Monaco.

You would've only catch a glimpse of other it if they happen to be photographed at the right angles and you saw it. Seems to be a little Monaco to me. Most girls love to show their ring if they’ve just received one and become engaged. I can’t blame her! I think the excitement is very normal and lovely!
DeleteThey courted each other during almost 10 years. Time they got married. She is present on invitation by her uncle Prince Albert each time there is an event in Monaco, but she is not alone. The majority of the nephews and nieces of Prince Albert are present when invited to give the impression of a big princely family. The majority has no titles or titles that don't exist anymore. In fact they are not interesiting because they are not involved with matters of charity, the climate, the activities of the red cross, etc... Only Prince Albert himself and Princess Charlene are occupied with these matters. There is not enough to do in Monaco for all these family members. They could also with all their money be volunteer for the UN to visit Africa, Asia, and all the other countries which receive regularly the visit of reigning queens and princesses. They could organise events and fundraising among all the rich habitants of Monaco to offer to charity of all kind. This sort of events are again the work of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene and a little bit of Princess Caroline and of Princess Stephanie. All the other are there as spectators and standing on a podium in gala dresses and black suits.

ReplyDeleteI have no idea about the life this young woman leads, but one thing for sure: despite the enormous wealth it can not be easy to be a member of the Monegask family and have Ernst August of Hanover as your father.
I wonder if her father will be present at her wedding. Last time I read something about him it was to tell us that he was as good as dead. His health was very bad at that time.
