On 28 September 2026, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco visited Metz, France, on the final day of Pope Leo XIV’s four-day visit to France to attend the European Peace Meeting, which brought together European leaders around the themes of peace and unity. The Princely Couple were invited to attend the meeting by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, attended a meeting with Pope Leo XIV at the Robert Schuman Convention Centre in Metz. For the occasion, Princess Charlene wore a wool and silk embroidered cropped jacket by Dior.
Dior Embroidered Cropped Jacket

What a lovely jacket Charlene is wearing, the embellishment around the neck adds just the right amount of glam. Pants to a meeting is okay for me and glad she wore white as she is entitled to do. Though the black dress fits to a tee, I am not a fan of the exposed zipper look. And the little bit of bling on the black shoe looks great. The exposed white pleat in the skirt is well placed. That dress looks very nice on her.
ReplyDeleteJetzt geht das wieder los "entitled to wear white". Was sollte denn passieren, wenn eine Nichtkatholikin weiß trüge? Eben, gar nichts!
DeleteShe’s entitled to wear white as the most senior royal lady of a catholic country. It’s called the “privilege du blanc” and is bestowed upon only a very few ladies in this world. So yes, she is entitled as you can be to wear white.
DeleteUnd die Queen trug 2014 beim Papstbesuch bischofslila und Hut...
DeleteJust beautiful your Serene Highness, I immediately though of you looking just like Princess Grace!
ReplyDeleteAt this age, Princess Grace was over size with grey hair she was not as glamorous as Charlene in her late 40s
DeleteWow I don’t see any similarities, interesting.
DeleteWell, many years ago Prince Albert presumably said he wanted his wife to resemble his mother as much as possible !
DeleteI might be mistaken but I believe the dress code for women meeting the pope demands a skirt or dress.
ReplyDeleteHopefully modern times have arrived at the Vatican
DeleteIf so why would Charlene deliberately wear slacks? She has to much respect for the pope to affront him. I am sure her protocol advisors approved.
DeleteShe is not meeting him in Rome, so perhaps the protocol is different
DeleteThis is valid for a visit to the pope in the Vatican, but when the pope is abroad these rules are less strict.
DeleteNon pas du tout.
DeleteVous bous trompez lourdement.
Women can wear trousers, capri pants and skirts and dresses are permitted however they cannot be shorter than knee length and shoulders must be covered. Per the Vatican site
DeleteYou are mistaken, welcome to the 21. century!
DeleteAlthough Princess Charlene has the right to wear a complete white outfit, she would have looked better to wear black pants. The white pants are plenty of creases what would have been less visible with black pants. I like the beautiful details on the necklines of her jacket. I also like the smaller version of the Lady Dior in white (Queen Mathilde has the big version in white, but I saw Princess Elisabeth with it on 2 o 3 occasions. So I think Queen Mathilde will stick to her wine red version of the same handbag, which she has used often lately. Perhaps her daughter can keep the white one).
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago or even longer the visible zipper was fashion. I am not a fan of an exposed zipper look. Otherwise I love Brigitte Macron's black little dress with the white pleat and the white details as well as her black shoes. It suits her like a glove.
ReplyDeleteYou are right.
DeleteDior never fails. Perfect choice, a nod to the host country and white, for the privilege du blanc afforded to HSH.
ReplyDeleteHair and make up as always is done to perfection.
Looking forward to this weekend state visit from Italy to Monaco. Though I doubt Princess Charlene will wear a tiara, it would be the cherry on the cake if she did!
Lowri.
ReplyDeleteCharlene is beautiful and the Pope seems to admire this as well.
