On September 8, 2026, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima paid a regional visit to the municipalities of Noordenveld, Tynaarlo and Assen in the northern part of the province of Drenthe, known as the Kop van Drenthe. The King and Queen were accompanied by Ms Agnes Mulder, King’s Commissioner in the province of Drenthe.
The regional visit began in the municipality of Noordenveld at the Prison Museum in Veenhuizen. In the 19th century, Veenhuizen was one of the seven Colonies of Benevolence, where poor families and orphans were housed to build a new life. Veenhuizen later became known as a penal colony, and several prisons were built there.
The King and Queen then visited the Riedstra-Hoving Dairy Farm in Veenhuizen. Afterwards, the King and Queen visited Zeijen in Tynaarlo. Zeijen is a typical Drenthe village built around a brink, located in the municipality of Tynaarlo. The King and Queen then visited Nijsinghhuis at De Buitenplaats in Eelde, which is part of the Drents Museum.

The royal couple looks regal .
ReplyDeletePas du tout intimidé le petit garçon qui a offert un bouquet de fleurs à Maxima qui a su ressortir ses boucles d'oreilles dont une des couleurs se retrouve dans son chapeau et ses chaussures !
ReplyDeleteVery good colour and stylish cut!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely regal couple.

I like the dress very much but it would imv be better without the cape. Now it looks altogether so voluminous. The colour combination with the hat is beautiful. Maxima is often wearing these shoes with the plastic trim in different colours from Natan. As I have these shoes myself I cannot believe that she walks for hours on them cause they are so very uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen's outfit is nice but I don't find it appropriate either for visiting a prison museum or a farm. Maybe there were other events during the day where her outfit was more proper for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteA really pretty color combination, and the shoes are particularly attractive. A very nice overall look for Maxima, down to the gorgeous coordinating bouquet! — Jane
ReplyDeleteQ Maxima looks good. Nice to see them together at this event.
