Ingrid Alexander is such a confident girl, just early twenties, just mid University, and so able to hold her own with kings and queens and grief and pageantry and all. I admire her deeply.

Me too. She seems to be gifted with so many qualities that impress quietly. Her brother seems to follow in her footsteps. It’s a beautiful family with good hearts and the love between the Queen and the King is immense and deep. Ac

Have you ever been in a funeral? After the ceremony we the whole get lighter in spirit and remember the dead with good stories and laughter it doesn't mean the grief is over.

It’s never easy to critique mourning dress. The wearer is attempting to look their very best to honour the deceased and the grieving family. All the ladies stayed true to their personal style.
Princess Charlene - I love the simplicity and clean lines of her pant suit. The simple veil, and her understated pearl earrings finished off a respectful Un ostentatious look.
Q Mary - This suit is similar to the one she wore for Pope Francis funeral. It fits her perfectly. Very feminine. Very classic. Very Mary. I think I might have preferred a box hat rather than the one she wore. Dark hats leave a dark shadow on the face. She wore the pearls from the collection. Again, perfect pairing from Mary.
Q Maxima - This was a toned down look from Maxima. The dress fits her beautifully. Her headpiece married up nicely with the dress. The jewels were a little more noticeable, but we’ve come to expect that from her.
CP Catharina - Like her Mom she chose a well fitting dress and complimented it with her headband and veil. She too went for the more bigger jewellery pieces.
Sweden Royal ladies - Always respectful. The whole family came, which was touching to watch.
Q Rania - It seems Rania predicted the walk in the procession included cobbles, and chose her footwear accordingly. She isn’t one for jewellery pieces. So nothing stood out.
CP Sophie - Delivered a similar look to Mary. Elegant with subtle Pearl jewellery.
GD Stephanie - I was shocked to see what she had chosen. I was more surprised that someone in her team didn’t advise a completely different outfit. It was appalling. You could see the outline of her stomach and bra. Literally the thin unforgiving fabric left nothing to the imagination! This is the Grand Duchess on the world stage. With money aplenty, and she thought this was an appropriate choice for a funeral!
Q Mathilde - She wore this same outfit and jewellery to the funeral of QE2 four years ago. I wish she had chosen a hat that didn’t hide her face.
CP Kiko - Perfect tailoring. Lovely hat. Simplistic jewellery.
Princess Anne - As we know Anne is not a lover of buying clothes. She can walk into her closet a pick an outfit she wore 30yrs ago, and it would look fine on her. So we have probably seen this skirt suit before.
CP IA - She was perfectly turned out. From head to toe. She’s grown into a beautiful young lady. I’m sure her grandmother was proud of how she’s conducted herself since the king’s passing.
MM - A simple dress with minimal jewels.
QS - in her heartbreak she still managed to look elegant. She wanted to look her best for her beloved husband.
Sad day for the Norwegian RF and Norway’s citizens. They’ve lost a good man. I hope they find the strength in each other in coming days and weeks.
    Lowri.

~ I don't think Mary's outfit was a matching suit, but two separate pieces - jacket and a skirt by two different manufacturers.
~ Q.Rania was either wearing something long sleeved under her Roland Mouret dress, or she ordered the dress with a long sleeve adjustment as the original version of this dress has 1/4 length sleeves.
~ I love the shape of Mathilde's hat.

It was more than sad to watch Q Sonja sit and see her husband of almost 60 years in a coffin. I hope happy memories of togetherness will help her to make the time of adjustment easier for her. Everyone was dressed very nice and appropriate for the occasion. It was a beautiful service. May King Harold V RIP. King Haakon VIII has very big shoes to fill, I wish him the best for the future and his Country.

Ce fut une très belle cérémonie d’adieux au roi. Toutes les dames étaient impeccables et parfaites. Sauf bien sûr Stéphanie du Luxembourg. Josée.
