On September 5, 2026, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark attended Denmark’s Flag Day 2026 at Kastellet. The day recognises and honours the contributions made by Denmark’s deployed personnel and commemorates those who have fallen. King Frederik and Queen Mary laid a wreath at the memorial.
In addition to the King and Queen, the Government and Parliament also took part in the ceremony, along with representatives of the Armed Forces, a military parade unit, the Home Guard, the police, the Danish Emergency Management Agency and veterans. For the occasion, the Queen wore a blue wrap dress by Soeren Le Schmidt.
