For the event, the Duchess wore a navy gown by Canadian designer Greta Constantine.

The duchess is wearing a lovely (navy?) gown. A nice brooch or a necklace would have improved this look. She looks very elegant!

Harry looks like a young version of his Grandfather, Prince Philip, here, when Philip was in the Royal navy. Meghan’s gown is her usual monochromatic style. Nice that she’s supporting a Canadian designer. The pearl earrings are pretty.

Regarding footwear, both men have handsome black leather that fully fits their feet in (most likely) real comfort. Whereas the pretty green sandals of the lady next to Meghan don’t remotely hold her foot. How did we get to this that for elegant occasions men’s fashion is good for their feet and comfortable - and women’s is foot deforming and uncomfortable?

Lovely couple. Megan's gown is elegant worn with simple jewelry. I would not have added more. Love the Prince's beard and yes, she resembles Prince Phillip when he wore a beard in the Royal Navy.

I think these off the shoulder gowns that are so popular make jewellery quite difficult - certainly not a necklace but a brooch might also throw off the balance. I love love love the earrings but I would have preferred something bigger and dangly for the glitz - but to be fair Meghan’s jewels tend to be beautiful but small. LRB

    2. Anonymous9/8/26 04:30

“Freedom of speech is blatant”? Huh? Freedom of speech is not a term to apply to individuals commenting on a few pictures of a celebrity. It’s a much more serious term for the right to speak out even if your thoughts go against serious institutions or critical topics. Some countries will jail you for it. It is critical in the world, but not remotely applicable on a photo blog. And the word “blatant” never matches the term “freedom of speech”.

These 2 are not worth the coverage, remember the privacy tour they are on, now she wants to look royal, even though she castigated the entire family, go figure. Just makes them look bad, sad for their children.

Good to see the Duchess back to her elegant best. The other lady also looks great. As a personal opinion I would rather see that the other lady did not wear the necklace and the duchess did wear a similar one.

  24. The Duchess looks lovely but the overall look is bland, I understand the monochrome style but with the dark color, a piece of jewellery, brooch, drop pearls? a splash of color somewhere. I don't like the train of this gown. Her gowns have similar themes, I would so love to see her branch out and wear a totally different design, style.
The gown worn by Mr Foster's wife, up close the embroidered bodice is beautifully done and adding a depth of color. Her shoes a shade of green drawn out in the colors on her bodice, clever addition, she wore a diamond necklace of minute diamond stones, beautiful touch. I like Meghan's hair up style and her makeup was on point. I note she is wearing the butterfly diamond and sapphire earrings, but they don't have much impact, hard to see. Some blogs state, dark Navy blue others I have seen have stated Black, also saying her clutch was black.

There’s the word I was looking for: bland. Would love to see Meghan in a feminine outfit. She’s a very feminine looking woman but rarely shows up in public photos wearing complimentary clothes. It’s her choice entirely of course…. But it would be a lovely change to see her in florals, lace, etc… softness.

      Delete
    2. Anon 17.19 I agree with you bland is a good description. I also found she wears the same type of style of gown, she wore similar to this without the train but the gown was beige in color and again off the shoulder, near to same style. After a while it becomes boring to see the same design most times. The back of this gown didn't look good in my opinion, it was extremely bulky and appeared to have alo't of fabric, adding bulk where there is none. Just my thoughts. I enjoyed reading your comment, thank you.

The gown is overall quite nice, with one exception: Creases at the waist, a frequent problem with her body type if the gown is tight but not fitted for her. As the colour is dark, one can scarcely see that the fabric throws horizontal creases on her waist, but the creases are there in this case too. - Length: Not sure if it is not too long, just a tad of the shoes should be visible (see Ms Foster beside her), this, too, is a problem of not fitting the gown before wearing it. - Hair: thank goodness she pulled it back.
