The dress itself would be really nice without the uneven hem and a bit shorter. But OK, this is less than the usual amount for complaint. Complaint is coming this from the accessoires department, the bag design is overwhelming for this already busy dress and dress pattern. I would have chosen a smaller and solo colour (and not red) bag, no material mix (cotton+leather) and shoes in that same colour like that imaginary bag.

For me the dress is beautiful and needs no adjustment. The length and skirt design are really lovely.

I like Duchess Sophie's dress. It is the first time I see her in a beautiful summer dress. The handbag can be beautiful on itself, but with the dress it is too big and since there are already many colors in the dress, the handbag should be plain red. I also had to look twice at the shoes. Or Duchess Sophie has big feet, which I never remarked before or she is wearing an old pair of shoes, from a period when the shoes were long, narrow and pointy.

What a lovely colourful dress. The hemline is a mullet style however it looks great as it showcases her shoes which look very interesting. The dress flatters her shape and the overall look is good. As much as I like her purse a smaller more delicate handbag would have been more complementary with her outfit. Btw her new haircut looks great!

Sophie’s dress is very pretty, nice colors and pattern. I can see what she was thinking with her bag - it has some of the same colors as the dress - but it doesn’t look right with the dress and shoes. Maybe a solid color bag would look better. I continue to really like her haircut.

Both of the women’s red dresses are beautiful and perfect for their individual roles.

  8. I think the dark-haired lady in the red dress is Ms. Dariescu. She looks gorgeous.

Another poor choice by the Duchess. This is not the style for her. She needs to wear more structured dresses for her silhouette. Maybe a push-up bra would help.

Your name is not the real Virginia Dogwood as the uses uppercase correctly. I don’t find impersonation honest. And please it’s highly disrespectful to be suggesting to a duchess what underwear she should wear. She’s 61 and in beautiful shape for her age.

I find body-related remarks highly intrusive and displaced. And this dress is structured, the top part you seem to dislike, very clearly structured. Maybe try again with more objectivity and politeness.

  10. This dress is gorgeous. I love the style and the colour combination of orange, blue and yellow. It's a good length too! The cap sleeves are great for warm weather and the graduated, ruffled hemline looks great..

The dress is nice, the purse is terrible, a small black or shoe colored bag would have been better.

Nice dress (colors, neckline) but it’s overshadowed by the handbag that is too large and wrong in color and those tan/gray suede shoes.

Nice dress, would look better with an even hemline? I like her new hairstyle, nice to see her.

Sophie looks striking in this red floral (?) dress. Its floaty style is perfect for her. I hate the bag she has chosen though--it does not go with dress at all. She should have either stuck with a small evening bag that paired well with her shoes or a black bag--preferably a clutch style or even an envelope style. I wish the photos were better because this dress should be able to show off her terrific figure but for some weird reason she looks slouched--maybe it's that horrid bag.

I don't like the dress but I do like her hair. The purse and shoes are an odd choice.

Oh dear! The photographer/organiser has made a bad decision here. One or two of the men in between the two ladies in red would have favoured both ladies and allowed both of their dresses to shine. As it is, it is difficult to avoid the faults of the dresses and to see their strengths.

  19. The dress itself is lovely, I don't like the uneven hem. Her shoes and clutch imo is a disconnect. I find this style of bag too bulky and color wise a no. Same with the shoes.
The lady with the dark hair, lovely style by the way, wearing the red embellished dress, this looks beautiful. Up close the embellishments are beautifully crafted. She looks stunning.

Ava is a darling, a polite commenter. But is it necessary to repeat her public praise so often that it is really noticeable?

Yes well said Ava. Always appreciate your comments, even when my opinion differs. Strangely we have here a commenter who has become a bit upset with you being a consistently kind commenter, but please don’t give up! We can hope instead that she begins to write consistently kind comments too and that we can write back to her too that we appreciate her.

I love the dress… but sadly not on Sophie. For me the colour and pattern overwhelm her. And as discussed the accessories , though beautiful in themselves, are a disaster with the dress. I am not a lover of long hair, so I am so pleased to see the elegant bob and I think she looks younger . LRB

Love the two ladies in red. Sophie is gorgeous in this fun and elegant summer dress. Perfect length and colouring and love the interesting almost flamenco shaped hem. I always love seeing her choices in accessories as she beats her own drum instead of being a slave to trend.
