On August 11, 2026, Queen Mary and Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Princess Amalia of the Netherlands, Infanta Elena of Spain, and Zara Tindall attended the opening ceremony and gala event of the 2026 FEI World Championships in Aachen, Germany. The FEI World Championships are a global equestrian event where world titles are contested in dressage, eventing, driving, para dressage, show jumping, and vaulting, and are being at Allianz Park.
The competition, which began on August 11 and continues through August 23, features six core international equestrian disciplines: jumping, dressage, para dressage, eventing, driving, and vaulting. The opening ceremony at Allianz Park also included a procession of historic carriages from the Royal Stables of the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.
For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a polka-dot washed silk dress by Diane von Furstenberg. Princess Amalia wore a green striped dress with adjustable straps by Spanish fashion brand Nina Blanc. Princess Benedikte wore a midi-length cotton floral shirtdress by Teri Jon.
QM looks 35 in these photos! Great flowing style on her, and she is the only human I know that looks good in brown. MR

حذفReady to forget and forgive that yellow jacket on Benedikte the other day - because in this fabulous dress she gets 10/10, very elegant and beautiful. Mary perfect as always, Amalia has chosen well between not too casual and not too elegant and her pulled back hair looks good too. Elena looks a bit as if she did not find the outfit she planned to wear, so she just pulled together what she could grab - that huge red flower and the hat make her look a little bit clownish.

I would’ve liked to have seen more of Zara, the fit of her outfit looked very good on her but unfortunately there does not seem to be so many photos etc to see more clearly.

Young and not so young people in the Netherlands and Belgium are speaking easily English because we learn English in secondary school. Some young people like Amalia are speaking English also at home. Some others like the children of Queen Mathilde and King Philippe are doing a part of their studies in English or are going to English speaking universities where they follow the courses in English.

Elenas outfit doesn't look well combined our put together with much thought. A bit of a Mismash.
I've always loved this outfit on Mary and she has worn it a few times. The top is gorgeous and she wears is so well. She looks very elegant. I am reminded of Julia Roberts wearing a similar brown polka dot dress in the movie "Pretty Woman" when she attended the polo match, which of course also featured horses. I also like CP Amalia's dress. It is perfect for a young lady at a summer event, and this event in particular. The fit is a little snug, but perfectly acceptable. I also love how she has worn her hair, and her make-up highlights her natural beauty. Full marks also to P. Benedikte's summery shirt dress and also Zara's black dress with the silk/satin (?) trim on the neckline and sleeves. To me, this sleeveless dress works very well for a summer daytime event, especially if it is shorter rather than longer which we cannot see, and it looks great on Zara, complemented by her short cut blonde hair.

ردحذفQueen Mary looks very nice in this dress. As I understand the colour of the handbag was supposed to match her jacket, but otherwise it is a mismatch (the third photo from the bottom with the model).
Princess Benedikte's dress is also very nice (I think, it's a rewear), but it looks unironed to me (photo 8).
Amalia's dress is clearly too small, and it would look much better in the right size. I also think she is over-dressed with emerald and diamond earrings. The dress says 'casual day' but the earrings say 'formal evening'. My opinion. - Ellie

Er zijn meerdere foto's verschenen in mijn dagelijkse krant op het internet van Prinses Amalia. Ook van de crême kleurige koets waarin zij aankwam gereden in de grote hal waar de verschillende aanwezige landen met hun paarden kwamen pronken. Er werd ook nog eens terug verteld hoe zij van haar paard "Mojito" viel en haar bovenarm brak. Er is toen niet veel drukte over gemaakt in het nieuws, maar nu ik het litteken van de ingreep zie, moet het toch een ernstige verwonding zijn geweest.

H.R.H. Princess Amalia is again looking great, a younger style compared to the the other Royal women. She just got it right!! And yes, she IS much younger.

And it hasn't been easy, her family have had many problems, and she has been personally attacked for so long, and victim for body shaming, what made me nearly cry. Something that can stick with you for life. But it looks like she has been able to overcome the terrible years, so good for her. The Princess Amalia appears to be such a lovely Lady like the rest of the family...
I really like the outfit of the lady in pink, she really stands out. I am surprised to see so many of royals for this event, I think this is the first time. They indeed share the same interest. Mary, Benedicte, Amalia and Zara are wearing a very nice summer outfit.

PB - Very rarely have I ever not been impressed with her style and elegance. This dress is reinforcing that.

ردحذفI really like that HRH P Amalia reached into the vaults for the emerald earrings. So often on this site and others, royals are criticized for wearing newly purchased jewelry when they have real things already. So, I am highly in favor of these!

Princess Amelia looks fabulous. I find the fit just right and love that she wears the jewels from the vault. They work perfect with the dress and adds the perfect amount of glam.
