On August 2, 2026, Queen Letizia of Spain attended the closing ceremony of the 16th edition of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest, held at the La Misericordia Cultural Centre in Palma. The festival was launched 16 years ago as Spain’s first online film festival, with a mission to introduce audiences to the best international films that could not find a place in cinemas.

In Mallorca, the festival has welcomed prominent international figures such as Liv Ullmann, Michael Douglas, Judi Dench, J.A. Bayona, and Ken Loach, as well as leading Spanish directors.
