On August 13, 2026, Princess Kiko visited the Itabashi Art Museum in Tokyo to view the “Bologna Illustrators Exhibition.” The exhibition features works selected in an international illustration competition for children’s books. Princess Kiko viewed works and picture books by Yoshino Umeda, a Japanese illustrator whose work was selected for the competition.
Later, Princess Kiko viewed “tactile picture books” designed for people with visual impairments. Authors of tactile picture books were also invited to the museum that day, and Princess Kiko spoke with Yoshiyuki Maeda and Aya Tanabe.
