On August 17, 2026, Princess Aiko of Japan attended the opening ceremony of the 37th International Conference on Semiconductor Physics (ICPS 2026), held at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku. The conference is held every two years, and this is the first time in 26 years that it has been held in Japan. Approximately 600 people attended the opening ceremony.
In her remarks, Princess Aiko expressed her condolences to the victims of the Kumamoto earthquake and the torrential rains in Chiba Prefecture. She said, “I sincerely hope that peaceful, everyday life will return as soon as possible.” She also said, “It is deeply meaningful that new relationships of cooperation can be fostered across disciplines and national borders through active discussions at the conference.”

DeleteShe’s very pretty and I love to see her grow in confidence and into her role. I do have a question regarding her hair: where I live a part in the hair for a more formal occasion would be a straight part, but over several years I note hers is not. Any insight? Is it current fashion with young Japanese?

Always such a pleasure to see lovely Princess Aiko. Her suit, which on my screen appears to be a delicate shade of pale mint green, is pretty and fits well — but as always I would prefer a collarless jacket (just a quirk of mine 😊).
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to see how Princess Aiko has become so radiant and self-assured in public. She may not become Empress, but that could prove to be more positive than it seems: if she were to retain her title as princess after marriage, she could continue to carry out her duties with less pressure. Other women in the family represent the Imperial House admirably—including abroad—and it is always a pleasure to follow their activities.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely fitting suit, ni e colour. The flare of the jacket with the self back belt matches the flare in the skirt. The length of the jacket is perfect on her. A pocket in the side seam of the skirt great idea.

I love the soft pastel suit on the princess. The shape of the collar seems to frame her face. I just don’t care for her bangs and the front part in her hair. Another hairstyle could be so much more attractive for her.
ReplyDeleteShe has really grown in such self assurance, its marvelous to see before our very eyes! I really like the cut and style of her jacket, particularly the collar, very becoming. The back belt of her jacket interesting feature and looks splendid, love the soft color of this suit. She looked radiant and engaging.
