King Harald’s Coffin Moved from Rikshospitalet Chapel to the Royal Palace

On August 28, 2026, King Harald’s body was moved from the chapel at Rikshospitalet to the Royal Palace in Oslo. King Haakon, Queen Mette-Marit, Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra, Queen Sonja, Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Märtha Louise accompanied King Harald’s coffin from Rikshospitalet to the Royal Palace.

King Harald’s coffin completed its journey when it arrived at the Royal Palace via Parkveien. Along the entire route to the Palace, many people had gathered to bid farewell to King Harald. The hearse was received by the King’s Guard. King Harald’s coffin was then carried by the adjutants into the Red Salon inside the Palace.
