On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Duchess of Sussex attended a special screening of the documentary Cookie Queens, which follows a group of Girl Scouts. The screening was held at the Grove AMC Theater in Los Angeles. The event was followed by a questions and answers featuring Alysa Nahmias and the Duchess, moderated by Jessica Radloff.
Cookie Queens is a 2026 American documentary film directed and produced by Alysa Nahmias. It explores the joys, challenges, and pressures of the Girl Scout cookie season. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex serve as executive producers under their Archewell Productions banner. The film had its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2026, and is scheduled to be released by Roadside Attractions on August 7, 2026.
For the occasion, the Duchess wore a double-breasted linen-wool double-face jacket by Akris, an off-white T-shirt by Anine Bing, and white Upper Village jeans by Tracy James Collection.
The jacket and sandals could be nice but the t-shirt and pants do not fit or make sense together.

DeleteThis elegant jacket does not lend itself well for this kind of wanting to look casual in it, i.e. for the rolled-up sleeves. Not every jacket tolerates this kind of loud casualness. The other extreme are the pants, everything but elegant and much too crumpled for this fashionable width. Half jeans on the top part (crumpled) and half wide pants (the bottom part), the result is not convincing. - 3 different shades of white, resulting from how different fabrics reflect the light. Good enough for the beach, except that jacket that is to be pitied to be in such a bad company. I would not call it a success, it is just Sussex.

Her penchant towards rolled-up sleeves simply does not work for all jackets at all times, and sure not for this finest double-breasted Akris (as if pairing it with these ill-fitting jeans would not be hurtful enough for it).

DeleteI definitely don’t think she looks dreadful, but I agree the pants don’t fit well. They are too high-waisted which is why they are scrunching down and wrinkling so much around her waist and hips. The jacket is very nice and I’m guessing that tee shirt wasn’t cheap either. But I think the pants are throwing it all off. Otherwise, I like her hair and makeup and the look is nice casual dressy for hanging out with Girl Scouts.

ReplyDeleteEvery single piece in white. There is always a difference in the white colors when the fabric is different. These days nobody is bothering about it any more. Queen Letizia wears sometimes 2 different fabrics in the same color and also P. Leonor and/or Infanta Sofia. There are different sorts of white and different sorts of black. Sometimes it is very visible and sometimes it is hardly visible.

DeleteHer signature plain no fuss look. I prefer a belt of some sort when pants have loops, just finishes the look. I like that she scrunches up the sleeves, otherwise it would be to overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteThe pantsuit looks messy especially the pant legs. The suit doesn't fit Meghan well and is a bit shapeless. The rolled up sleeves also contribute to a messy look. It could be my computer screen but the white colour of the blazer doesn't match the white of the pants. The white top inside doesn't provide any interest or contrast. This is a poor outfit choice.

DeleteOur clothes can be crisp as f* but at soon as we sit down they Wrinkle. Royals are not prevented from this. So give them a break. Weirdly enough we have never seen anyone else been criticised for this so why is Meghan...hmm I guess we are not surprised. Ps we often see royal ladies in all white and they don't criticised for it except Charlene who get criticised for an all black ensemble.

Can’t wait to see the movie; films of such gravitas have never been more important, given a world in crisis.

DeleteI prefer Meghan in this role (attached to a movie) and these clothes (neat but casual with a “tossed together well enough” vibe and these shoes (healthy, comfortable, cute). I think this may be her real comfort zone. I hope she manages to make THIS her life. I wish her all the best in this role.

DeleteClearly casual was the theme for this screening and I think her outfit reflects that. It looks like she shopped her closet altho I'm not sure I would have put those peices together, she does look comfy, like everyone else in these photos. It's too bad there's a always a nasty comment no matter what the Duchess is doing however and too bad the admin just lets it post. It's so uncalled for.

I don't see why admin needs to get involved and censor them just because you don't agree. Not everyone has the same taste in clothes. I might like something you don't. Different strokes for different folks.

ReplyDeleteI love that she is supporting the Girl Scouts and their movie! This outfit is perfectly between casual and professional. It has an element of fun with the jeans but does not overwhelm anyone else’s outfits.
