On 14 July 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, together with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, presided over the 2026 Princess of Girona Awards ceremony at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. The Princess of Girona Awards honour young people who have made outstanding achievements in a wide range of fields, from the arts and literature to business.
Princess Leonor presented the awards in their respective categories to filmmaker Gemma Blasco, entrepreneur Patricia Aymà Maldonado, entrepreneur Mercedes Bidart, researcher José Eduardo Méndez, researcher Rafael Luque, and social entrepreneur Hatim Azahri.
For the ceremony, Queen Letizia wore a black embroidered tulle cropped top by Carolina Herrera, paired with high-waisted wide-leg trousers by Sybilla. Princess Leonor wore a sequinned collarless blazer and matching trousers by Bleis Madrid. Infanta Sofía wore a raspberry-coloured top by Momoni, paired with matching trousers.
