On July 23, 2026, Princess Anne visited County Fermanagh to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Air Training Corps. The Princess first visited St Tighernach’s Church of Ireland and Sacred Heart Church, where 86 airmen who died during the Second World War are laid to rest. She also planted an Irish yew tree during her visit to the Castle Archdale Museum.
The Princess was welcomed by Mr Conaire McNeary, Warden of Castle Archdale Museum, who provided an overview of the former RAF station, the NIEA’s work today, and the current Castle Archdale at War exhibition. Castle Archdale Country Park is one of the most significant Second World War heritage sites in Northern Ireland.
P. Anne’s pearl necklace, earrings and brooch are all lovely. I suspect she is wearing those black loafers because she was planting that tree, however, her blazer looks both a tad big ….sleeves are long and looks a bit dated. I love this blue colour , turquoise, for the summer and the shirt looks interesting, covered buttons, cute collar. The matching pleated skirt looks good as well. The blazer is just ill suited to the look of the skirt suit. Another colour and a more fitted blazer would have improved the entire presentation. A miss!

DeleteDon’t think the jacket is “dated” but practical and classically styled, sized to be able to wear a jumper under it in winter or over a summer dress. Very pragmatic Anne. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see her swish her jacket off, ask someone to hold it, then dig the entire hole, heft in the tree, fill it in again, wipe her hands on an old towel, then get back to the ceremony. Her jewels against the dress colour are superb.
DeleteThis outfit looks so interesting. I'm wondering what the dress underneath looks like without the jacket, the style and fit ? I like the jacket, at first I thought it may be a bit big for the Princess but then again in the last photo, buttoned up it appears okay. Love, love! the diamond and pearl brooch, what a beauty! Her pearl necklace another lovely addition. Love the color of her outfit, sublime. Wonerful to see her, she is marvelous!

I guanti che ultimamente indossa spesso, per me, sono una forma di distacco perché un conto è piantare un albero e un conto è salutare chi incontra.

Lovely blazer, probably lovely dress, but not lovely if worn together. I have no problems with the black loafer, "summer colours" and "winter colours" are just a commerce-driven invention of the corresponding fashion industries.
ReplyDeleteIf it is commerce driven, it is a commerce which exists since a very long time and still has many clients. Besides in another color the loafers would not be elegant either.
DeleteI think you’re right 8:13 and I think it’s very much out of the States. I don’t ever hear in Europe that there are rules for certain colours. This “no white before Labour Day” type statement is out of America and has formed some fashion opinions we read here. As for Anne wearing loafers, very good choice for tree planting.
