On 14 July 2026, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène attended the commemorative ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack in the French Riviera city of Nice, which claimed the lives of 86 people and injured 458 others. The ceremony was presided over by French President Emmanuel Macron.
On the evening of 14 July 2016, a 19-tonne cargo truck was deliberately driven into crowds celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, resulting in the deaths of 86 people and injuries to 458 others. The attack took place shortly after a fireworks display and remains one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in modern French history.
Elie Saab Macrame Midi Dress

Very diginified. (Is that the correct word ?)
ReplyDelete@ 01: 34
DeleteDignified is the perfect word to describe Charlene's appearance today.
Cate.
Absolutely.
DeleteAgreed, describes Princess Charlene.
Charlène very elegant, as usually.
ReplyDeleteElegant and dignified.
DeleteUnusual eye makeup for Charlene with very heavy liner in the outside corners of her eyes. Is it a current trend? (My makeup knowledge is very low!)
ReplyDeleteVery unusual indeed. It strangely makes her eyes look like she is eith squinting or has pronounced crows feet.
DeleteT
I think it looks gorgeous!
DeleteShe looks lovely, but I am not a fan of the lace overlay, very dense. Love the deep Navy color.
ReplyDeleteIt is not what we understand by lace, it is macramé, but it is a sort of lace like "broderie anglaise" is also considered as a sort of lace.
DeleteCharlène magnifiquement vêtue
ReplyDeleteSobre mais quel chic
Froufrou
A dream of a dress!
ReplyDeleteAnyone else questioning why this criminal Sarkozy is there kissing Charlene’s hand and sitting in the front row? Very odd.
ReplyDeleteWith a rather smug grin on his face, too. I guess it's because the former Présidents de la Republique Française still living are there as well (Hollande being seated next to Sarkozy). On the fashion side: I love Princess Charlènes dress. Such a good choice.
DeleteAs a former French president, he was invited, as well as Hollande. Whether you like it or not.
DeleteWhat? Is he wearing stolen clothing
DeleteNo. The majority of us are here to discuss Royal fashion.
DeleteYes that’s crazy to see. Convicted for corruption and given a 5 year jail sentence last year. What’s he doing there amongst royalty?
DeleteWhoa that’s mad. I wonder who designed the seating to put a convicted man next to Princess Charlene?
DeleteIt’s a Royal blog, not a strictly Royal fashion blog.
Superbes escarpins bien assortis.
Son maquillage est impeccable comme toujours.
Paloma :-)
https://www.mytheresa.com/fr/fr/femme/elie-saab-pareo-mandara-imprime-jaune-p01127570

Paloma.
Very beautiful and elegant blue dress. Love these kind of dresses. Mme Macron looks very good too. The slightly longer length than her usual is very nice.
ReplyDeleteWhen Madame Macron is wearing a slightly longer dress, skirt or coat, it means that they are rather new. When she is wearing dresses or skirts which ends above the knee they are usually older. As her clothing style is always very classic and doesn't change much one almost doesn't see the difference between a new and an older dress. She also wears classic colors : black, white, cream, light blue, navy, royal blue, grey, old pink.....
DeleteI’m glad PC forwent the waist bow tie. It looks more structured just with the waist band. Navy was a good choice for a remembrance event. Saab seems to be one of PC go to designers.
ReplyDeleteHair & make up,as always is on point.
Lowri.
La princesse Charlène et madame Macron sont élégantes, chacune dans son style ; délicat le maquillage de Charlène !
ReplyDeleteAchard62
I do not like her hair and make-up. Her hair looks like it is glued on her head and with this eye make-up it looks like she cannot keep her eyes open (in the majority of the pictures).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress--fits like a glove. Perfect for this solemn occasion. Mme Macron also looks marvelous--I like the longer length of her dress too. Charlene looks beautiful and elegant as well as somber to mark this event.
