The Royal Palace in Brussels has reopened to the public for the first time since 2022. The Palace had been closed for the past three summers due to extensive renovation work on its facade and windows. It will be open to visitors from 3 July to 16 August. On the morning of Friday, 3 July 2026, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the exhibitions at the Royal Palace in Brussels.
While the Palace traditionally opens to visitors only after Belgium's National Day, it is opening to the public earlier than usual this year because several state rooms must be prepared in time for the state visit of King Frederik and Queen Mary in early September.

Mathilde chooses very elegant clothes. This is very flattering for her. It’s a dress I would totally ignore on a manbequin but with her in it, very elegant.

DeleteThe tailoring of the queen’s gown is very interesting and intricate. Perhaps it is my imagination, but Mathilde looks slimmer to me, her face has also changed, very positive.

Belle silhouette dans ce
ReplyDeletemodèle dont j’adore le haut ; bon choix que son petit clutch !
This is a beautiful dress. In the first photo it look grey; in the second photo it looks blue-ish. I prefer the grey colour by far. I also like that the fabric looks thin and light on the capelet. The dress looks better from the front than from the side but that cannot be helped, nor is it of any consequence. Mathilde looks lovely.

I’m seeing grey, green, purple then blue. Fascinating fabric to change so much with the light. I guess it’s not actually grey as it would clash with the shoes.
DeleteI see that more photos have been added since I wrote my comment, when there were only 2 photos. But the dress still looks grey in some photos and blue in others.

I don’t care for the capelet style of Mathilde’s dress. I do like her shoes with the pretty details on the back that look like bows or bunny ears. I was hopeful for a while there she had changed her hairstyle to a softer, less structured look, which I think would look fantastic on her, but alas it appears not.

The blue greyish dress is a rewear from 2019. She wore it to visit 2 regions in Germany.
ReplyDeleteTo me the dress has been renovated. It is less tight than in 2019. Or Queen Mathilde is thinner now. The shoes are the Bow tie pumps by Italian brand Aquazzura a brand that is worn often by royal ladies. The clutch by the Lebanese brand Sarah's bag is new. Her jewelry are the Diamonds with aquamarines earrings by Fabienne Lascar. Queen Mathilde looks great and her hair is lovely.
There are 4 exhibitions which can be visited this summer in the Royal Palace among 1 concerning the first Queen of the Belgians "Queen Louise".
Lovely dress on Q M!
ReplyDeleteThis elegant dress with its capelet feature suits Queen Mathilde wonderfully; creates a very flattering silhouette and I love the periwinkle blue color, a hue we don’t often see. — Jane
