On Wednesday, 22 July 2026, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the grounds of the Libramont Agricultural Fair, two days before its opening. This year, the fair marks its 100th anniversary. The Libramont Fair is Europe's largest open-air exhibition dedicated to agriculture, forestry and agri-food.
The King and Queen learned about the preparations and met with various representatives of the agricultural sector, including the fair's organisers, farmers, students of agronomy and veterinary medicine, and women farmers who are being highlighted as part of the United Nations' International Year of the Woman Farmer.
The King and Queen also attended the unveiling of a mural created especially for this anniversary edition. This year's edition focuses on organic farming and the use of artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector. The fair will take place from 24 to 27 July 2026.
We are being spoilt with beautiful Belgian posts! Mathilde is always lovely. This time I don’t understand her shoe choice though; why so high with a platform under the front of the foot too. Would have been a perfect chance to wear cute sneakers or other flat shoes.

ردحذفThe wedges are by Castaner a well known Spanish brand of espadrilles. Queen Mathilde has these shoes since ages. They are leaving probably today or tomorrow to their vacation adress. The canvas bag she has with her and the shirt dress are also vacation wear.
حذفIf she can walk with wedges why should she wear flat shoes ? These are the shoes she takes with her when she is on a mission for the UN in a hot country in Asia or Africa. She is the one who wants to wear them.
