On July 2, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the presentation ceremony for the 106th ABC Journalism Awards, followed by a dinner held in honour of this year's award winners, at ABC headquarters in Madrid. The awards have been presented annually by ABC, one of Spain's leading national newspapers, for the past 106 years.
During the ceremony, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presented the awards. The King and Queen presented the Mariano de Cavia Award to Karina Sainz Borgo, the Luca de Tena Award to Víctor M. Amela, Ima Sanchís and Lluís Amiguet, and the Mingote Award to José María Gallego and Julio Rey.

The K & Q are a stunning couple and look fabulous in their black tie outfits. Really like the dress with a simple sleeveless top to offset the full skirt with fun bow details. The K looks better than any James Bond I’ve ever seen! Also really like the one shoulder red dress on the woman recipient.

ReplyDeleteBut I'm disappointed that she is wearing it at night, when black is so hard to appreciate; it fades into obscurity unless some sparkly luxe fabric is used. I think this dress is seen at its best during daylight hours. Lyra

DeleteThe men are all wearing bow ties..A black tie affair. The previous wearing was also at the PDAsturias awards...an evening event.
@Lyra: it is easy to find videos of this event. To judge if black works it is better to look at movement. Photos do not serve this dress right, of course. It is beautiful.

DeleteI love photo No 5, the way the King cannot take his eyes off his Queen. How we all wish our partners look at us this way after so long!. I hope this comment is not inappropriate to some ! The Queen has worn this dress before, in the flesh I would think it is more enticing, its hard to make out its interesting features, with black color. Her black shoes look good.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do love is the gorgeous diamond bracelet, oh divine! Her large diamond earrings are stunning, lovely to see a rewear of both these incredibly jewel pieces.
In the other pictures King Felipe smiled a lot too. The winners of the awards are smiling too. They had all a good time.

This event must mean a lot to the Spanish royals, so that Q. Letizia decided to wear her big diamond earrings and the beautiful diamond bracelet.

ReplyDeleteWonderful to see Letizia wearing the spectacular Cartier bracelet that once belonged to queen Victoria Eugenie. I also like the lady in the fluffy blue gown with the cheeky red shoes, a very subtle, artistic look.
