On 22 July 2026, King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited the new RHS Sandringham Flower Show, which is being held for the first time this year on the Sandringham Estate in Sandringham, Norfolk. King Charles is Patron of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). King Charles and Queen Camilla made their first stop at the RHS Royal Legacy Garden, designed by Catherine MacDonald in collaboration with The King.
King Charles presented The King’s Biodiversity Award to Sophie Godber, designer of The Mindful Chef's Gathering Garden, in recognition of her work championing outstanding horticulture and the importance of biodiverse spaces. He also presented the award for Best Exhibit in the Floral Marquee to Roualeyn Fuchsias.
Queen Camilla presented The Queen’s Choice of Upcycled Containers award to The Pollinator Patch, designed by Whissonett & District Horticultural Society & Gardening Club. In this category, local community school groups used discarded materials to create mini containers. For the occasion, Queen Camilla wore a green paisley dress by Lexy London.
I have a weakness for pasley so I'm okay with this. It's her usual silloette and she's wearing it like the model.
ReplyDeleteFor the rest of us, I would love to see what this dress looks like with differenct accessories such as maybe a slim white belt to break up the pattern a little, and maybe a sleeveless option. It could be dressed up more with heels and bold jewelery.
Interesting to think together about a garment. Thanks for starting this. I think it cannot look better than the model here with white sneakers and relaxed hairstyle. It lends itself very well to being a casual feminine easy wear dress across three seasons (switch in boots in autumn).
DeleteI agree with 20:31 - this dress cannot be dressed up; instead it should be styled casually with sneakers, glasses and a sun hat. Not sure about the boots either - maybe country style would work. A belt could indeed break up the pattern but should also be of the casual kind.
DeleteThe model wears the dress better but unfortunately, the model´s version has some pattern placement issues. The dark spots at her breasts make me think of back of being a new mum and leaking milk through my tops.

ReplyDeleteI hope Charles is well. He looks happy and good, but I notice his hands are very puffy and he’s carrying a walking stick. I hope the stick is a gentleman’s prop rather than necessary for walking.

DeleteCharles' hands have been like that for some time, and possibly the side effects of chemotherapy. It gets to my upper feet and ankles rather than my hands. With chemotherapy a walking stick is a necessary accessory.
DeleteCharles has been using a walking stick for years--I'm sure it's not a prop as he is certainly not pretentious. I think he just likes using one when walking on potentially uneven surfaces. As for his hands--his hands have look like this for years.

DeleteOn the model this dress is more or less OK. On Q. Camilla it looks like a house dress or an old fashion nightie. Maybe adding a thin belt would make a big change for the better.
ReplyDeleteSame here. It just hangs on her. But belt ... rather no. I think it would be enough to make it shorter, it immediately would remove that nightie/house dress vibe and look better. All this lost fabric on all these fashion victims ... how sad.

DeleteBeautiful summer dress in a green and white paisley pattern! It is perfect for this event. Queen Camilla looks wonderful in this dress. I think the style would be flattering on everyone and it certainly looks cool and comfortable for summer outing. My favorite picture is the one with KCIII with the cute dog!

ReplyDeleteThe colour and print of this dress is great however, the neckline and front ruffle are not great. That neckline looks stiff and too high up …it looks like that in the model as well…like it’s choking her.

Lovely signature style, shoes are perfect. I like that she has pulled the sleeves up. I would prefer the dress a bit shorter to take away the nighties vibes. Otherwise nice fresh colour.
