On Tuesday, 14 July 2026, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden celebrated her 49th birthday. As is tradition, the celebrations took place on the island of Öland. The official birthday celebrations began at Solliden Palace, where King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle, and Prince Oscar greeted well-wishers gathered in front of the palace to mark the occasion.
From Solliden, the Crown Princess and her family travelled by horse-drawn carriage through Borgholm to the ruins of Borgholm Castle to attend the Victoria Concert. They were joined at the concert by Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, and Chris O'Neill.
Since 1979, a Swedish athlete has been honoured in connection with the Crown Princess's birthday celebrations. This year, cross-country skier Frida Karlsson received the Victoria Award from the Crown Princess in recognition of her outstanding achievements.
For the occasion, Crown Princess Victoria wore an organza belt dress from ByTiMo, Princess Madeleine wore a linen-and-silk shirt dress by Paul & Joe, and Princess Sofia wore a floral-print maxi dress by Andiata.

Les deux soeurs portent des robes imprimées très estivales - Bon et heureux anniversaire à Victoria !

Victoria’s hair and makeup look great here, and her pretty dress looks feminine and summery. I think Sofia’s dress maybe would look better with fewer tiers. Madeleine’s dress looks good on her with the pleats and belt.

The ladies look good but not Estelle. Her dress isn't to her advantage, too long sleeves, skirt too short.
Delete@Anon 09:45- think about what you write about a 14 year old girl. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.
DeleteEstelles skirt is "too short"? I beg your pardon! She is a fresh, very pretty young girl!
DeleteAnon 0945 I understand what you re saying, with the long over the hand sleeve and short skirt with her lovely long legs, is not the best propo we have seen .However for a 14 year old she is right in fashion, and for summer the skirt is just fine.
Delete9:45 The irony is when Victoria was pregnant with Estelle she wore a dress with the same length as Estelle... critizing kids wow great job from a so-called adult.
DeleteI like her dress, colour fit is great, I would have liked it a tad shorter. I like her hair parted on the side. Estelle’s dress is cute, looks very cool. All are dressed appropriately and the king dapper as always. Love seeing grandpa with his family.
ReplyDeleteCrown Princess looks lovely, this is a soft, pretty and feminine shirt dress. Admirable woman!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! She’s just all around lovely…my favorite royal!
ReplyDeleteWell, Victoria's floral chiffon maxidress has a nice shape, although I think the sleeve cuffs should be shorter by a few centimetres, and I'm surprised that the end of her belt has been left hanging instead of being tucked away, (Madeleine's is the same). But the chintz pattern unfortunately reminds me of a bedspread of a certain era; for me, it's too much. Lyra
ReplyDeleteAh such a lovely family ! Happy birthday to Princess Victoria :-)
ReplyDeletePrincess Victoria's hair parted on the side adds softness to her face, she looks like a different woman.
ReplyDeleteI love the group photo, it gives me an opportunity to judge the fashion choices of everyone. The men all look great.I especially like prince Daniel’s light blue blazer- very summery.
ReplyDeletePrincess Victoria’s dress is just lovely, those muted colours in organza are beautiful. I also like the pale pink tiered ruffled dress of princess Sophia. It looks light and frothy. As for Princess Estelle, my only quibble is that she should have rolled up those very long sleeves. However, I suspect it is cool in Sweden.
Everyone looks lovely and Estelle is going to be taller than everybody in a minute. She's not even wearing heels! :-o :)
ReplyDeleteJ’aime beaucoup la robe de Victoria. Est-elle est très grande et ce qu’elle est jolie! La reine impeccable comme toujours.. Josée.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty suit on Queen Silvia and lovely summer dresses on the younger ladies — but Victoria’s dress is especially ravishing! ❤️
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria looks very feminine and elegant, though this dress is long, I love it. Floaty and pretty, the colors are soft. Not a fan of Princess Sofia's dress, too many tiers and very fussy. Princess Madeleine looks lovely in this soft silk dress. Her strappy shoes look splendid.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, romantic, flowing summer gown on Victoria for her birthday. Wish her all the best.
ReplyDeleteIf that's her 49th birthday ...imagine her 50th party ! I want an invite
ReplyDeleteGrattis Victoria! Next year big 5-0 celebrations.
ReplyDeleteAll ladies look very lovely in their flowy summer dresses. I especially loved Victoria's and Madeleine's dresses.

Wonderful, romantic dresses!
ReplyDeleteCpr V and PR M dresses, both wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOn another festive occasion, she wore a very romantic very flovery dress, this one: https://www.hola.com/us/royals/20200618fohv49zoix/crown-princess-victoria-sweden-fairy-tale-gown-new-anniversary-portrait/ and looked phantastic in it - but the cut was simple, not this flowing multitude of fabric, with collar, long sleeves, belt, totally closed up everywhere. The difference shows why I don't like this dress on her - it is not the flowers, it is the style and the cut, maybe it is nobody's best style, because the women drown in flowing fabric. Quite unhappy to say but I don't like any of the outfits, not even the children's.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, all men are wearing ties, which I like. What I don‘t like are Estelle’s pale ballerinas. Her fresh, peppy mini dress would have looked much better and younger
ReplyDeletewith ballerinas in pink or red or green, summery colours, choices which my nieces would have made.

Estelles's dress is also from the Norwegian brand ByTimo and Silvia's suit is from The French brand Weill Paris. Victoria is the winner here. Don't like Madeleine's dress at all.
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria's dress is too long (personal taste). Also the sleeves of this beautiful floral dress are a bit too long. Her hair parted on the side is beautifully styled. The sleeves of Ptiincess Estelle's dress are too long. It is the 2nd time she is wearing this dress and the 2nd time the sleeves are unbuttonned and too long. Is there nobody among the house staff who can make these sleeves shorter ? On picture N°6 Prince Oscar is hiding behind his mother and he is coming "peeping" while stepping out the castle. He is and stays a cutie. His hair is fashionable.
ReplyDeleteLet’s not make comments about children, especially their physical attributes. I don’t care if one thinks comments are complimentary and thus okay. There will be plenty of time to do this once they are adults.
DeleteOh please when Leonor and Sofia of Spain were the same age comments on how the dressed were made. Comments are made on Charlotte’s dresses. Fashion applies for all ages and genders so as long as it is about fashion what looks good and what doesn’t to me is just fine.
DeleteI beg your pardon ? I didn't made bad comments about the children.
Delete1. Estelle : I commented the sleeves of her dress not her
2. Oscar : the comments I wrote were positive. I tried to describe the playful attitude of little Oscar and I said his hair was fashionable what is wrong about that ?
1342, you did /said nothing wrong, some people misunderstand that the comment is on the fashion , not the individual.
DeleteSo, just because “everyone else does it,” that’s an excuse to perpetuate something? Didn’t your mother ever ask you, “if everyone else jumps off a cliff, are you going to jump off too?” I see a very disturbing trend on this site to believe children are fair game to make any sort of comment about, including unchangeable physical attributes. It’s no wonder some royals refuse to allow their children to be shown - (and some commenters complain bitterly about that, too).
DeleteVic looks lovely - hair and make up are perfect. She is the stand out, as she should be on her birthday. She does not look 49 either! JJ
Stop critizing children. It's tasteless and mean.
DeleteVictoria looks great and happy. Her husband and son's pants are too long, and Estelle's sleeves are way too long. Sofia looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteVictorias dress is a maxi so no it's not to long...
