I am so looking forward to this visit! They all have warm bonds with each other and so much history together. Too bad Aiko doesn't accompany them to meet the younger royals.

Wow, they are leaving early. They probably have planned other visits too while they are in Europe. I know it will be CP Elisabeth who will welcome them at the Airport upon their arrival in Belgium.

They will stay privately with the Belgian Royal Family over the weekend.

@Anonymous13/6/26 17:42: the Japanese imperial couple will stay with the Dutch royal family this weekend. EM has stayed a couple of months in The Netherlands 2 decades ago and that has been the start of a warm relationship between the two families.

Back to fashion, apart from her komono dressing, this is one of the best looks of EM ever (and then I forget about the hat, as Ibelieve the hat style will never change).

I know that but they first went on state visit to The Netherlands, unless they are staying this weekend with the Belgian Royal Family. I read it would be in the Castle of Ciergnon in the Ardennes.

The emperors have a warm relationship with both families : the Dutch royals and the Belgian royals. The emperor is a personal friend of King Philippe. This friendship goes back since the time King Philippe (then Prince Philippe) studied in the US.

A lovely elegant less-is-more suit of the empress. The classic colour combination blue-white looks in this case very summery because of the bright blue colour.

One of the best suits she has. Great colour for her, good fit and the tie adds a feminine touch

  5. Très élégant le tailleur de Masako dont le bleu lumineux se retrouve dans la cravate de son époux toujours vêtu avec soin ; j’ai hâte de les voir arrivés !

  6. They both look very happy in the last picture. They will stay privately for the first nights in The Netherlands, I believe.

Such a lovely couple, this imperial Japanese couple. The Emperor, so considerate to his wife and the Empress smiling and relaxed, no longer ill and depressed.

Lovely and dignified Empress. Nice sharp white trim accentuates the blue suit with a matching hat. She and the Emperor make a handsome pair. But i notice a similarity between her and the Princess of Wales’ fashion choices. Always neat and tidy in their appearance - quality clothing/fabric, but predictable. I would love to see the Empress try out a different hat style - just once for the fun of it. - Virginia Dogwood

Don't forget the empress has little to say about her own outfits. Others decide this for her.

So lovely to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing all four of them together, as well as when they go to Belgium later.

Not fond of this shade of blue, it does not sit well with Empress Masako's skin tone. She always looks lovely in paler color shades.
