King Rama X and Queen Suthida of Thailand are undertaking a four-day state visit to France. On the second day of their state visit, the King and Queen, accompanied by Princess Sirivannavari, visited Paris City Hall, where they laid a wreath at the Arc de Triomphe in remembrance of the Unknown Soldier.
Afterwards, the King, Queen, and Princess Sirivannavari travelled along the River Seine by electric boat as part of their state visit, observing urban development along the riverbanks and receiving a briefing on the French capital’s river conservation efforts. They are in France for a historic visit marking 170 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and France.
For the occasion, Princess Sirivannavari wore an outfit made from ivory-toned jok silk featuring a floral motif, woven using the traditional jok technique with graduated colour shading to create depth within the design. The textile was created by Chakrawat Prejamrat of the Mongkol Montra Thikarn woven textile group in Kalasin Province. The outfit was tailored by Thai designer Polpat Asavaprapha for the brand Pyvet.
