Welcome to the US! Fun photos of the royals and great to see the princess accompanying her parents. Looks like a lot of orange in the crowd behind them so I’m sure the Dutch fans were happy to see the royals in attendance.

Just a side question: this is the first time I can recall seeing the King and Queen wearing business attire at a sporting match when supporting a Netherlands Team. I note that they are dressed like the officials standing around them. Does anyone have some firm information as to why they have chosen to do this? Is this traditional for attending soccer matches? I can speculate on the reason --- but it would be interesting to know the facts and history. Lyra

He did not have time to change, a few hours ago he was hosting the emperor.

@07:01 - the King and Queen of the Netherlands hosted their Imperial Majesties in the Netherlands on June 19, then flew to the USA to attend World Cup matches starting on June 20. They had ample time and opportunity to change clothes between these events.

Afterwards they went to Curacao's match. It ended in a draw and the team celebrated with the king, queen and Ariane in the changing room. There are videos of them dancing and clapping along: what an atmosphere! I love genuine celebrations at sports events :-)

  6. Their presence at both matches seem to have worked as a lucky charm. The Netherlands impressively beat Sweden 5:1, and Curaçao was able to keep a 0:0 against Ecuador. Next up we will most likey see Princess Ingrid-Alexandra attending a Norway match together with her brother Prince Sverre-Magnus. Love when the royals come out to support their national team footballers.

They love to travel and party. I'm surprised they didn't include the other two girls.

Tack gode Gud inte kungen var på plats, tur att han hade midsommarfest istället på Sollliden slott för sina 60 närmaste vänner, Oscar Roslund och hans tjej Emma Fransson spelade och underhöll gästerna på festen!
