On June 1, 2026, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark arrived at the Port of Odense aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog as part of the traditional 2026 summer tour. Odense is the third-largest city in Denmark. Upon arrival, the King and Queen were welcomed by Mayor Peter Rahbæk Juel. They were then officially received at Odense City Hall.
The King and Queen walked from Odense City Hall to Eventyrhaven, accompanied by the “Blue Watchmen.” In the 18th century, these watchmen patrolled the streets of Odense to maintain order and warn residents in the event of fire. The King and Queen also visited Odense Cathedral, also known as Saint Canute’s Church.
The King and Queen’s summer voyage began in Odense Municipality and will continue with a visit to Norddjurs Municipality on June 2. After a day at sea on June 3, the 2026 summer cruise will conclude with a visit to Holbæk Municipality on June 4.

Ah…. This is completely lovely, Mary. From head to toe gorgeous, individual, delightful.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is a little like Aiko’s mint green jacket this week - and I hope Mary will see a picture of it and immediately follow suit. The difference as I see it is that this Ralph Lauren jacket looks good because it’s belted; but I think without that it lacks structure to hold itself neatly ( see the model pictures) most especially the collar … whereas the Aiko silk jacket has self- structure, with a similar but neater collar, and the three silk coloured buttons fasten it beautifully. While the belt looks good (and is very much a Mary fashion preference on a jacket when it’s paired with a dress or skirt), a jacket holding its own is even nicer (d’après moi).
Frederik is of course completely gorgeous too. I love watching this couple on their summer sailing appearances.
If I remember correctly this is the eighth time Mary has worn this pretty skirt.
ReplyDeleteI think she wore this particular jacket on her trip back to Australia.
This Queen certainly sets a very good example when it comes to
fashion recycling/ sustainability.
Cate.
Both the jacket and skirt are unusual. I don't normally see pleated skirts with prints. Maybe because the print becomes obscured with all the folds. As for the jacket, the collar is large and floppy while the pockets are baggy. The linen fabric seems too lightweight to support these features. However, I really like the outfit. Mary somehow pulled everything together with the belt and looks fantastic. The overall look works.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to me that the Ralph Lauren marketing photos do not make the jacket look good. It looks old, misshapen, sagging. The collar looks particularly poor. How confident they must be in their brand to use such photos. Mary saves it by smart use of a belt to cinch it in and close it well.
ReplyDeleteVery good observation. And here are some of her (differently) belted variations: https://www.instagram.com/p/DWvkiFNDOYN/?img_index=5
DeleteThey both and the whole setting is spectacular. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLes 2 pièces séparément sont très belles
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Mary does this magic of combining jacket + belt so well, this is no exception and for me, this is such a perfect upgrade. - The skirt is a re-wear, I did not like it with this blue blouse: https://www.newmyroyals.com/2024/09/queen-mary-attends-2024-national.html and I don't very much like it now as a skirt, but I very much like this whole ingenious combination.
ReplyDeleteThe hat is awful!
ReplyDeleteWhy do you say that so categorically 16:34? Is it not to your personal taste - or do you mean “awful” as in inspiring awe? I think it’s a delightful shape for Mary, who tends to look great in all hats. It’s a very pretty brim and crown, and I very much like the shape.
DeleteI don´t think the skirts works well with the beige accessories. I don´t like the skirt much to begin with but it really needs something either red or white to got with it. (The model´s black top doesn´t work either.)
ReplyDeleteThe beige jacket, hat and shoes (all of which are lovely) are best combined with a contrasting colour. Navy blue, brown or wine red come to mind. Given the belt buckle, I would have chosen brown.
The problem is that this skirt did not work with blue and it did not work well with white either, because the base colour is not really white. I have the strong impression that it does not work with any of the colours it contains itself :-)). So maybe Mary wanted to pull it all together by means of the accessoires: we have a beige hat and beige shoes to go with the jacket and the skirt ... well, it has always been an outsider.
DeleteOh Mary looks absolutely perfect in this outfit! Everything - the hat, jacket and belt, skirt, purse, shoes (a
ReplyDeleteMary looks perfect in this outfit! Everything - the hat, jacket and belt, skirt, purse and shoes - goes so well and she looks beautiful. I think this is one of my favourite looks on her. I hope the tour goes really well and that she and the King enjoy themselves.
ReplyDeleteWow, she's perfect
ReplyDeleteI could never get tired of seeing this lovely jacket on Mary and here she has worn it perfectly yet again. The style of the lapels is beautiful, and she has chosen the right belt too. And best of all, her lovely hat coordinates so well for a light, summery look without any heaviness. I also like her skirt very much which she has also worn before. This is a lovely start to their sailing tour, visiting various Danish communities as they do every year. Looking forward to more events and the rest of the tour.

The outfit is lovely, but in my opinion the colours of the skirt
ReplyDeletedo not match the creme/beige
of the jacket, shirt, hat and shoes.
i agree
DeleteLove the look. It reminds me of old hollywood
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteBlazer is prachtig, echter niet in harmonie met de rok.
ReplyDeleteElégante veste drapée au simple boutonnage mais je remarque qu'elle a l'air de se froisser facilement !

Absolutely love the hat, blazer, belt, shoe combo and have absolutely loved this skirt every time she’s worn it. I don’t like the tan and skirt combo together because the colors and pattern are too different, but the fit and proportions are so perfect that it’s still a nice outfit. And the King looks amazing in this military uniform.
ReplyDeleteLovely linen jacket and becoming accessories. Is this in a Danish building?
ReplyDeleteIt feels like we have three different looks in this ensemble. The boater hat certainly gives an official look. But, the linen jacket feels it leans more into the casual. The skirt feels a little out of place, with both.I know QM has had the skirt in her closet for sometime, I’ve yet to see a top/blouce that flatters it. Though QM has worn both blue red, and now the beige.
ReplyDeleteI am always impressed at QM belief in fashion sustainability.
Lowri.
I agree on every point. My favourite component of this outfit is the hat. Lyra
DeleteThis is an awful outfit to me. It doesn't work at all.
ReplyDeleteOne can wear clothes more times when they are good looking. But one cannot do it eternally. I have seen enough of the jacket and the skirt. Maybe the hat is new. But one can add a new hat and a new belt, it doesn't change the over all look. It might give the impression that she has a small clothing budget, which I think is not the case.
ReplyDeleteEveryone can buy new things. But very few women know how to combine the not-new to create something new. - Knowing about the mountains of stuff and clothes dumped to Africa, you being bored buy royals re-wearing their stuff leaves me wondering if you ever heard or understood the meaning of the word sustainability.
Delete@ 23:10
DeleteA) Everyone cannot buy new things all the time ! There are still poor people everywhere.
B) Don't worry I do not buy new things every year. Simply because I prefer to buy one good jacket or skirt or whatever which I can wear during several years. But I am not a Queen or a Princess and I do not represent a country or an organization or anything, so I am not photographed each time I come out of my house.
C) If it was another Queen or Princess than Mary you would not even notice when they wear a dress which is 10 years or 15 years old. They also have a taylor who is working for them and when it is possible they adapt the dress so that it can be worn again.
D) Sustainability is one thing but a new dress or coat or whatever on a special occasion is normal for a queen or a princess. Besides this creates work. You can compare it by flying in a plane. It is bad for the climate but if no one would fly in a plane anymore there would be millions of people who would loose their job. It would be bad for the economy of a country too.
Mary looks really lovely. My small critical point is the colour of the cream jacket looks for me a bit strange in combination with the white colour of the skirt
ReplyDeleteWow, Maey is aging backwards! She looks absolutely stunning in a rewear jacket that looks lovely with the spring skirt. Her face is glowing and the hat makes her look like a 27 yr old! Just beautiful! MR
ReplyDeleteI liked this skirt the first time she wore it and the beige I think is the best look. The king looks so polished in his uniform, but I must say the relaxed posture is priceless, such a down to earth person.
ReplyDeleteLove this couple. Mary always elegant and in style. Fredrik looks dashing in uniform.

The Queen looks so stylish and elegant. I love the rewear of this feminine, pretty skirt, nice swish and movement. Love the jacket, beautiful fit. The color of jacket and floral skirt I like. The belt of the jacket, welcome addition. I like the slightly darker top underneath. Love the color of her shoes and bag. The hat is divine, this suits her beautifully. I like it worn with this ensemble. Her earrings and necklace are perfect finishing touch. King Frederick looks resplendent in uniform. Its wonderful to see the Royal couple close and engaging together.
ReplyDeleteTrès belle allure et maintien pour Mary et joli couple
