On June 27, 2026, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the official opening of the seventh session of the Scottish Parliament at the Scottish Parliament Building in Edinburgh. Following the ceremony, the King and Queen met local heroes nominated by MSPs for their “extraordinary contribution” to local communities.
The King and Queen also watched a performance by the National Theatre of Scotland, which is marking its 20th anniversary. The performance included a poem celebrating the theatre’s 20th anniversary, as well as an excerpt from its production Through The Shortbread Tin, performed by members of The Lyceum Youth Theatre.

Hello one of my favourite Scottish skirt suits! Now waiting for the other one I remember (with a less wide rock) to come out to play. But I would not mind her losing that feather somewhere, or maybe put it on the back - no, better lose it, the hat can stay.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget King Charles. Impeccable dressed like always
DeleteKing Charles looks better in his kilt and jacket than in the majority of his suits.
ReplyDeleteAt least this jacket fits. I hope for him it is not so hot in Scotland with the vest underneath his jacket.
I agree he never looks frumpy in a kilt.
DeleteI agree. In his suits he looks like they’ve lost shape. He needs a day with his tailor to commission a range of darker suits, which suit his coloring, and also add a waistcoat to give the suit structure.
DeleteCamilla looks good. It’s nice to see her out of her A-line coat dresses and in a skirt and jacket. She does have a good stylists/dressmaker.
Lowri.
Lowri, try to find an old YouTube interview with Prince Charles talking about fashion sustainability. It helps explain his choices. He doesn’t want a new tailor and a new series of clothes, he wants to rewear and not waste.
DeleteWhen he is on state visit he wears sometimes a better, newer navy suit which suits him perfectly. I think he wore it to go on state (or official) visit to France in 2023 or 2024 ?
DeleteNot wasting is OK but one cannot wear eternally the same suits or coats. When he is photographed with another head of state one can see the difference between the two of them. Sorry to say but King Charles is often dressed very badly in suits which are shapeless and really worn out.
Oh my! the King looks smashing! Love his look.
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla, her tartan outfit looks splendid.
Camilla looks so much better here than in her uniform dresses. A coat and skirt do great things for her.
ReplyDeleteApprovo! Sta molto bene con giacca corta e gonna.
DeleteKilt d’un cĂ´tĂ© et tailleur Ă©cossais de l’autre, look parfaits pour cette occasion !
ReplyDeleteCharles looks good
ReplyDeleteThere's rarely something to complain about when KC III and Queen Camilla appear in Scotland in traditional outfits. Simply nice to look at.
ReplyDelete@20:16 - the feather is a nod to their `personal` security guards The Royal Company of Archers. Look at the size of the feather they wear in their `hats`.
