The Royal Family has supported Ascot Racecourse since Queen Anne established it in 1711. Two hundred years later, Royal Ascot officially became a Royal Week in 1911. The event has been a longstanding social fixture of the Royal Family’s summer calendar for generations, with different combinations of family members typically attending on different days.

I like Q.Camilla's modern touch to her usual style. Hope she sticks to the new designer.
The new Ms. Phillips is looking very elegant!

Anna Valentine has been making bespoke dresses for her for many-many years. Among other things, her 2005 wedding dress ...

    2. Anna Valentine has been designing dresses (outfits, in general) for HM Queen Camilla for a long time now. Nothing new on that front.

I like what the Duchess of Gloucester is wearing the best. It's simple. Harriet Sperling's dress is okay. The hat and earrings are very good. Zara's shades are good. I would wear them. The color of her Rebecca Valance is good but the dress is awful. Her hat is fun. Don't know that I like it. Okay earrings. Princess Anne's jacket looks like it's from the 70s.

You may well be right about Anne ' s jacket looking like it's from the 1970's as she is the ultimate royal recycler.
Further to that, the yellow hat that she recently wore to her son's wedding looked suspiciously like the hat she wore to Zara' s baptjsm
      over 40 years ago.

The Princess Royal's coat is called Nehru Coat in Kahl (pattern) from Shibumi. It's available on their website for 425 Pound. @Cate It was the hat from 45 years ago.

If it is from the 70's or not, it looks good for me. Princess Anne's recycling is like a message without words and I like that message. I looked up a little video about the royals arriving and saw that she wore a purple (like the purple in the coat) skirt or dress under it. Looks good.

I love Princess Anne's outfit the most; she has a very personal style, and I particularly like this dress with the hat, the colours are so working so well together. The other ladies look very nice as well, but all kind of made in the same mold.

Well, I think all the ladies look good in their own ways; however, the Duchess of Gloucester stands out for me. The last photo shows more of her skirt and jacket. I like her hat too, and pearls. I think Princess Anne is wearing an unusual jacket/coat (I can't find a full length photo of her) in a rather psychedelic style. I wonder if she bought it several decades ago; she is known for her rewears, sometimes from a long time ago! I like her hat, too.

  6. I love Zara, she has a lot of fun with fashion it seems, sometimes it's more successful than other times, but it's always interesting. This time is a huge success in my book! Her hat and dress are superb, and those sunglasses are something I would like to have myself!

The only dress I like is Zara's and only on pic. N°6 and on the last picture with her husband Mike. On the other picture with King Charles the dress looks less lovely because she didn't kept herself right up. I also like the pink/lilac colour and she is wearing a fashionable hat.
The Suzannah dress worn by Harriet Phillips in in the style of the dresses worn by a governess or private teacher in the old days. Her hat is looking weird too. The light blue color is nice.
    Q. Camilla's dress has the same shape like all her dresses and the color is difficult to see what it is. Something between very light green and light blue. The embroidered (?) flowers are not adding anything to make it look better. The seam in the waist looks weird.
Princess Anne is wearing, from what I can see, a dress which looks too dark and in a fabric which looks too thick to wear during summer.
What I can appreciate is that the majority of the royal ladies are no longer overloaded with jewelry. They finally understood that one or two beautiful pieces of jewelry are more sophisticated and elegant than a necklace + earrings + brooches + bracelets.

Harriet - Is fast becoming the stylish one of the BRF. The simplicity of her dress allowed the stunning diamond earrings to shine. Her hair and make nicely done. I love how she has her initials HP on her bag.
Camilla - Same style as she usually wears, just a differing pattern. The Cullen diamond brooch is quite spectacular. I see she’s placed a diamond brooch onto her hat, though I can’t quite see the purpose.
Anne - An unusual choice from PA. Quite the psychedelic pattern.
DoG - Always so elegant. She could certainly teach some of the younger members of BRF,how to turn up to an event looking well put together, and that thought an effort had gone into your choices.
Zara - She is always a winner at Ascot. She knows what styles suit her and she sticks to them. The lavender dress with the bold hat, is gorgeous. I love how her husband matches his wife dress color in his tie.

I agree with you on all points. “Psychedelic” is exactly what I thought about the pattern of Anne’s outfit. It is entirely possible she has had it since the 1970s.

Q - As others have noted, I think the Queen has stepped up her wardrobe and it’s all working! The draping and subtle floral detail is stunning.
HP - Fun to see the newlyweds out and about already. She’s one of my new favorites because I think she gets her fit and colors spot on. Love the style and color of her hat!
Zara - My favorite of the day with the coordinating lilac tones on the dress and fun hat. The sunglasses match perfectly and keep her looking like fun, as always.

What a great kickoff to Ascot fashion--and some gorgeous jewels! First up--Queen Camilla rocking the Cullinan V brooch. Thinking its sparkle might have been blinding unless you had a pair of sunglasses. As for her outfit--stellar! Love the color, the embroidery is beautiful and really adds a very special touch to a style of coat dress she likes, and then her hat. Camilla loves big hats, wears them with elan, and I love her in them. A+++ Your Majesty. Next up, the exquisite Duchess of Gloucester. This is a lady who loves to play in her jewelry box and I thank her for it. Birgitte brought her A game today with a beautiful blue suit that has a 50s Dior kinda vibe for me. Of course blues in all shades are marvelous on her. Her summer woven hat is a perfect choice too. Then her jewelry--her small brooches as clips on her collar are perfection and she's wearing lovely pearls and diamonds too. Finally, onto The Princess Royal and her family. I swear Princess Anne has a catalog of all her clothes, pulls out what she wants, and stuns us she can wear something older than her children. I think this jacket has to be from the Mod Era of the late 60s or early 70s--but I also think she may have had a tailor/seamstress remodel the collar area. She loves that hat and it always looks wonderful on her. Her pearls are a great choice because that jacket needs nothing to fight against its pattern. Zara is pretty in a pinkish/lavenderish dress ! Love the simplicity of her dress and the scalloped bodice neckline is a beautiful style accent that takes a simple shirtwaist dress right into elegance. Her boater-style hat is fun and pretty. She looks quite chic. Finally, the newest member of the family, Harriet Phillips. What a beautiful and elegant lady. She looks fabulous in this pale shade of blue. I like the standup collar of her dress with the simple covered button detail beneath it to add style detail. Like Zara, her dress is very simple with details that create real flair. I also like her hat, her beautiful updo, and those earrings are stunners. Kudos to Harriet in her first Ascot as Mrs. Phillips. Very excited for more Ascot tomorrow!!!

  11. The Duchess of Gloucester looks impeccably groomed. Love the rock crystal brooches and the placement, perfect. Her pearl necklaces and earrings great choice, looking elegant.
Zara looks beautiful, her ensemble looks lovely, not a fan of her earrings.
Harriet looks gorgeous, love her pale blue dress very feminine and stylish. Her earrings and bracelet, perfect. Her up style hair and makeup, perfect. She looked very attractive.
Splendid choice brooch by the Queen. I do love, love! the diamond bar brooch she wore under the brim of her hat. I am happy when any brooch is used especially worn on a hat!

    2. Its underneath her hat on the under brim, looking at her front on its on the right hand side. You cannot see it in these photos, I saw it elsewhere, but had to enlarge the photo. It is a 10 diamond bar brooch that originally belonged to Queen Victoria. Its great to see the Queen delving into the Royal jewel vaults! I would so love to see more brooches worn on hats. I hope this helps. Kind regards.

Love the exquisite broidery of the Queens dress, and also the skirt: she looks wonderfull and big hats are always good on her.
Princess Anne surprises with an unusual pattern: quite good.
Harriets dress is a very oldfashioned style, safe but not exciting.
Zara tends to be a bit vulgar in her choices, like this time in the lilac dress.

Zara's dress is not vulgar at all. The color is lovely, her short sleeves are right for the season and her hat looks fashionable. To me she is dressed young and fashionable which is the right thing to do.

@Anon 07:11 Can you please explain what is vulgar about Zara in her lilac dress? I cannot align that word to anything she is wearing by even the furthest stretch of the imagination, so please explain. Thank you.

I don‘t care whether princess Anne‘s outfit is new or old, what I can see is that it does not look drab and stuffy, as so often, the colours are bold and exciting and the matching hat is cheeky, a true break from the frugal routine, wonderful

Camilla looks good and so does Zara. Very chic her dress and hat.

I find Camilla is starting to be adventurous (ha!) with her fashion choices. Not steering too far off, but at least willing to take some chances.

Whilst I admire Anne’s rewear policy, her choices seem often at odds with the occasion. She has plenty of dresses and outfits already in her wardrobe more suitable for Ascot.

The new Mrs Philips seems to have inherited a good budget from the royal family (I suppose), certainly not choosing outfits in line with her NHS Nurse salary. This dress is good, not particularly enamoured with it, but fits the expectations.

Zara looks like a Barbie doll and between the colour and all the frills of her Rebecca Wallace dress, I feel totally put off by her outfit. Anyone looking for some extra sugar on that pink macaron?
