On June 17, 2026, members of the British Royal Family attended the second day of Royal Ascot 2026 at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire. The Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto, and Lady Gabriella Kingston joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the second day of the Royal Ascot horse racing meeting.
Royal Ascot is a longstanding fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar, following Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter Service. The late Queen Elizabeth II attended all five days of the horse-racing event for more than 70 years.
Roksanda Brigitte Dress
Suzannah London Victoria Shirt Dress

Even though Kate's dress is a Roksanda re-wear from some years ago, I love it because it isn't another coat dress like she's been wearing a lot of lately. She looks lovely. The bright yellow lights up her beautiful face and the dress itself is pretty and light. I don't really like her hat...but at the same time I do, lol. It is simply constructed and has all that light frothy netting which complements of the lightness of the dress's skirt. It is not fussy at all. So perhaps it is well chosen.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing Lady Gabriella present. She is another tall beauty and she is dressed nicely too. I love her hat and it matches her features beautifully.
I find Sophie's dress far too sombre among all the lightness and colour around her. Reminds me of a dowager widow.

Lady Gabriella looks very elegant.
DeleteLady Gabriella looks well. She's wearing a traditional look nothing extraordinary but I like the coat dress and the hat. Her and Princess Anne's looks are perhaps my favorite in not a really great look overall. Lose the blue gloves. Camilla I forgot. Looks much better than normal. Just different shoes. POW is wearing a nice dress with an ugly hat. No coat dress though.
DeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteCatherine's yellow dress is a ray of Sunshine 🌞 while Sophie's black is at a sad event!
DeleteHer dress is very bright. Sophie. I haven't liked a Suzannah on Sophie in a very long time. I wouldn't mind black if it was stylish. Woof. I wish she would try a simple skirt suit. Her style seems really bad lately.
DeleteAfter so many straight and slightly severe coatdresses - how very good to see a real swishy wide-skirted (because who if not Catherine should wear them) feminine dress at last! This is a re-wear and I am for many more returnings for this dress. Also happy to see a hat that deserves this name. - Gabriella Windsor looks very elegant in this brocade dress or coat dress, quite similar to the one Catherine wore to the Garter ceremony, I like the collar, the pockets and that little belt-something at the back very much, they break up the otherwise quite large surface quite well. And dear Princess Royal, please buy yourself a non-black bag, I would not mind purple at all, and wear nude gloves, because then, I could really love that you wear pink today.
Good rewear from Kate. Don’t particularly care for the hat. I suppose it’s colour coordinated. Camilla has a new white dress and she wears it well. Lady Gabriella looks elegant (which we all expected), surprised by her posture in the photo with Kate. Sophie’s dress seems to have been chosen on account of being useful on multiple occasions, including funerals. It’s not inappropriate, just rather depressing. She might want to try something different, not always Susannah.
ReplyDeleteYess, good Idea, no Suzannah for a while. And the tilted hats with those subconstruction placed under the hat instead of on it, they can go away as well.
DeleteI don’t like Kate’s yellow outfit. It’s too bright and I don’t think the colour suits her. The style is once again too Windsory.
ReplyDeleteWould prefer Sophie's black dress
DeleteSophie's dress is the complete opposite of Kate's - too funereal. I don't like either one.
DeleteThe best look on the Princess of Wales of this year so far, without any doubt. She looks feminine and very happy in this yellow dress.
ReplyDeleteI don't like this beard length on William. You either wear a beard or you don't. This looks like he forgot to shave. A few millimeters longer would look better. But either way, they are looking happy and are most certainly having lots of fun at Ascot.
I agree that the stubbly-faced look that is currently so much in style (and has been for a seeming eternity 🙄) is not very attractive on William, and that if he wants conspicuous facial hair, a beard would be more flattering. Prince Michael of Kent looks wonderful with his beard, and I really miss Guillaume of Luxembourg’s beard, which gave his face so much maturity and definition.
DeleteThere was also Lady Sarah Chatto in the carriage of the king and the queen. Aside from the Duchess of Edinburghs black outfit, I really think they all looked very handsome. The Princess of Wales easy to spot from afar like a calendula flower. The Princess Royal looking good in pink. To see Lady Gabriella Kingston attending was an added bonus.
ReplyDeleteCatherine as a royal ray of sunshine - wonderful! 🤩And isn't it nice to see Anne in such a soft pink?
ReplyDeleteI love Catherine’s yellow! It’s beautifully bright and I think the colour suits her magnificently. The style is perfect for Ascot!
ReplyDeleteEverybody looks wonderful. What fun. There are some sensational hats too.
ReplyDeleteFunny someone has said the Windsors are too windsory … now what can they really expect?! Ascot is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteQ: She looks great in white and love the gorgeous brooch
ReplyDeleteDOE: Black can be harsh at an outdoor daytime event but depends on the style. The bow detail on the chest is terrible design and looks silly if you have any chest at all. Soooo much fabric on the top and bottom of this dress, it’s drowning her.
POW: Love the yellow and more fun, light style of the dress. I personally don’t think any of the accessories make sense but just distract from a great dress.
LG: Great color and style on her, although wish she wore a different hat. Something more eye catching. I remember she wore a large navy hat with a similar pale blue outfit years ago and it was fabulous with her blonde hair and fair skin.
For those saying Sophie’s outfit is too sombre, have you not seen My Fair Lady? Black and white is the all time classic Ascot and she looks beautiful in it!
ReplyDeleteMy Fair lady was a stage play and later a movie, and they were wearing costumes created to lampoon Ascot (OTT hats and dresses). In reality, no one would go dressed to the limits as those women did in the movie, even back in those times. The black-and-white theme was a costume designers decision. To explain Sophie's dress as a classic example of that is arguably laughable.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Anonyme 20 : 37 : la tenue de Sophie n'a rien à voir avec le film. Dans My Fair Lady la robe est essentiellement en dentelle blanche avec quelques détails noirs mais elle ne porte pas une robe totalement noire !
DeletePaloma.
Thanks for laughing at me 9:13. I appreciate that. I was trying to point out to those that dismiss Sophie in black that Ascot IS full of theatre and joy in the dress choices. Many here don’t understand the tradition in the clothes the British royals choose, and I was trying to help them understand the tradition and theatricality we have here. Laugh if you will.
Delete@Anon 16:20 If that is what you truly meant, you should have done a better job wording your initial comment. There no way your words reflect your explanation. Taken as read, your 1.5 line comment was interpreted exactly as it was written. And BTW, 'arguably laughable' doesn't mean that I laughed at you, though now that you mention it, I did chuckle. Something tells me that if you came across that comment in the context of the previous comments, you would have too.

I like Camilla’s dress with the buttons and thin belt. The brooch she is wearing is exquisite. Catherine looks summery and cheerful in her swishy yellow dress. I wasn’t sure I liked the netting on her hat, but it is growing on me as I look at the pictures again. Gabriella looks elegant and refined. Anne looks quite good in pink, and her hat is flattering on her. Sophie’s black dress looks overly somber to me for the event, and the fabric looks a bit stiff. It looks like it was very windy - must have been challenging to keep the hats from flying away.

Princess of Wales looks stunning......
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning and joyfull bright yellow with a cloud of yellow for a hat: The Princess of Wales.she definitely enjoys the day out.
ReplyDeleteThe queen wears a beautiful Dior dresscoat.
Princess Anne: in a colour very different from what she usually wears: quite good!
Lady Gabriela: always elegant and Beautifull.
Sophie: unusual summer colour, but good!
P Anne looks great in the pink suit, but I don’t like the gloves and her bag. She looks better than at the wedding of her son.
ReplyDeletesophie looks like sombre. i wonder if there is a reason for the black? i really like her outfit but its not her normal style at all
ReplyDeleteCarherine can the yellow dress and the yellow hat next easter!
ReplyDeleteVery nice outfit from the ladies. Cathrines dress is lovely but the net on the hat is a twisted mess. So nice to see Lady Kingston there as well. Why did Sophie wear black. This is fun time not a funeral. As long as she like it why not.

I like that Catherine tone down the big yellow bow of the original dress on the model.
ReplyDeletePrincess of Wales looks stunning, what a great shock of colour-the slight folds of the bodice are soo elegant and turned into a seamless fold …just a standout! Love lady Gabriella’s coat dress, covered buttons and neat fit..so elegant.love the size and colour of her hat too.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Queen, great cream coat dress, her the fit is good and that big hat with the trim frames her well…go big or go home!
Another stellar day of the royals at Ascot. Pretty much all the ladies were fabulously turned out so I've decided to start at the top. Queen Camilla looks marvelous again in a cream/white ensemble with another incredible hat that is perfect on her. But...she's wearing another one of the huge, jaw dropper brooches from the late Queen's collection--the Pink Diamond Williamson Brooch. It looks so beautiful on her outfit and I am so glad to see her wearing these amazing jewels--please, ma'am, keep it up this whole week.. I do wish we could see those fabulous pink topaz earrings because she did wear them today and I think it would have perfectly fine to add that equally fabulous pink topaz brooch she wears as a clasp on her one of pearl chokers because the more dazzle the better--I love her pink topazes and hope we get see more of them.. I feel the need to recognize King Charles because he has an amazing collection of antique tie pins--and today's is from the reign of Queen Victoria. I love that he loves to wear these treasures. Today's pretty in pink lady is The Princess Royal. I love seeing Princess Anne in a color that is a rare choice for her. She looks wonderful--pink is very pretty on her. Would I have chosen the black or navy accessories? No but Anne is Anne and I am not going to second guess her. Next up--the Princess of Sunshine, Catherine, Princess of Wales. I loved this bright, cheerful yellow dress when she has worn it before and it's a perfect choice for Ascot. I love her hat too--I am always a fan of classical netting and this hat has a wild abundance of netting. Catherine really looks smashing and radiantly beautiful. Lady Gabriella is a treat to see and she looks so pretty in her blue coat dress. She too is wearing a big, fabulous hat. Lovely is the perfect adjective to describe her whole look today. Now I have to take on one of my favorites among royal ladies--Sophie. I'm fine with wearing black as it harks back to what is known as Black Ascot of 1910. But, that happened as a way to continue the public mourning for the recently deceased King Edward VII. Sophie is usually dressed in beautiful summery dresses in both bright and pastel shades of color. I'm not sure why she chose this dress as all the excess fabric is swamping her petite frame and the solid black dress just seems jarring. Had the dress had white trim or something white that would help. Her black and white accessories are perfect but the dress is a disappoint for me. Oh well, there is the rest of week for Sophie to delight me and I feel sure she will. Wish there were photos of Zara and Lady Sarah Chatto here to see as both rarely disappoint. Now looking forward to Day 3!

Sophie va à un enterrement ? Très très jolie kate
ReplyDeleteLady Gabriella looks very elegant, she is tall and striking. A very graceful and elegant Lady. She is a natural beauty. Having seen more than my fair share of coatdresses, this one is the exception. I find this highly attractive and very appealing. The coatdress has becoming and feminine soft pleating from the waist, I find this very appealing, its not slimline, it flowed well as she moved. Love the piece at the back, adding interest. Her cuffs of the sleeves are nice, different, I like this addition. Color is sublime. Saw elsewhere she wore beige shoes with the gorgeous pale blue bag, which is divine.
ReplyDeleteCatherine's earrings are beautiful, gorgeous glistening diamonds. The three strand pearl bracelet is a lovely addition.
Sophie, I find the large bow on the bodice so distracting, and literally fills the entire front of her bodice. Maybe in person it may look better than it photographs. Not liking the shoes combined with this dress.
I love the Princess Royals pink outfit, she looks very stylish, and elegant. On my screen her accessories look to be Navy.
I love Lady Gabriella's outfit, great to see her there. Anne looks bright and cheery, Sophie looks good
ReplyDeletePour ce deuxième jour, Kate est lumineuse dans ce jaune bouton d’or au contraire de Sophie vêtue de noir ?!
ReplyDeleteThis might be one of my favorite looks for P Catherine. Just so elegant. She really hits it out of the park!
ReplyDeleteTo me the best dressed are on
ReplyDeleteN° 1 PoW Catherine
N° 2 Q. Camilla
N° 3 P. Anne (She should leave her black gloves and bag at home. If she cannot without gloves she should wear her white gloves like she did before during spring and summer. She has white handbags too)
Although P. Anne is not dressed in the Ascot style, from what I can see of it, the pink coat and hat are beautiful and suit her well.
Freaking love it. That hat is like the sun! So fun and beautiful, I appreciate the whimsy.
Paloma.
