On May 5, 2026, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and Prince Daniel welcomed Swedish honorary consuls at the Royal Palace. Thirty-three Swedish honorary consuls serving in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland were welcomed by the Royal Family.
The honorary consuls are visiting Sweden for a major consular conference organized by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In connection with the reception ceremony, honorary consuls Esa Kärnä of Finland and Annette Koch Byrdal of Denmark were awarded knighthood in the Royal Order of the Polar Star.

ReplyDeleteI like Queen Silvia's jacket, but I don't think it's a good match with her dress. I know that the jacket has little spots same color with the dress, but something doesn't look right to me. However she looks as lovely and friendly as usual.

DeleteSilvia demonstrates so well how to combine a dress with a jacket: complement each other instead of contradicting, they complement each other. That tiny bit of colour coordination between the two is just a hint of connection. - Victoria's dress does not make me happy. Not very becoming for her: high neckline and short sleeves (short sleeves on a dress are seldom becoming on anyone, for that matter).

Queen Sylvia with another of her tweed jackets by Weill. The jackets are still looking good, but I think she wore them enough now. She has many beautiful gala dresses, but her day dresses/ensembles need some new things, especially to wear at a reception with the honorary consuls.

ReplyDeleteVictoria's dress looks sublime, a simple, subtle dress, but it looks stunning, very elegant. I love the style, design and color. The collar, short sleeves and belt very smart. The skirt of the dress has nice swish on movement, very appealing. I like the length of this dress. The color is feminine and pretty.
