Matelier Cardamom Dress

Something different. Nice to see her again.

This is an unusual and interesting dress, especially the shape of the sleeves and hemline. The mix of orange & brown colours and the print of the fabric are striking. I wonder about the length because it hits the model at the ankle. On Sopie it must the dragging on the floor.
ReplyDeleteWell, not very far away from dragging the fabric on the back: https://x.com/i/status/2052167766849835363 , and what she has too much there, she lacks just a tiny bit at the front (decolletée :-))
DeletePS, I am the one who delivered the movie, PS: for all those imperfections back and front, this dress is a 100 times better than those predictable flowery curtain-like dresses we are sure to see in the summer.
DeleteI agree with most comments, particularly those about the length.
DeleteCertainly agree with : unusual and interesting dress.
DeleteImprimé original qui me donne une impression de tapisserie ; je pense lui avoir déjà vues ses boucles d'oreilles qui me plaisent beaucoup !
ReplyDeleteI can't get past the obviously low cleavage to fairly evaluate the dress, but I really don't like her taste in clothes. There is nothing chic or elegant about her styles, sad to say.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit on the Duchess. Her hair looks very soft, this style suits her.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has worked as a bra fitter, I can see that Sophie is wearing the wrong design of bra for this frock and it is almost certainly the wrong size as well. From my experience, Sophie would be thrilled to see what a correctly fitting bra in the correct design would do for her look - as well as her personal comfort. Every woman needs to have periodic bra fittings to accommodate incremental changes in their overall shape. Sadly, most women are wearing the wrong size bra, or bras of poor design -- and I see the same thing with quite a few other royals as well. It's evident to the trained eye, even where there is no decolletage. Lyra
ReplyDeleteThe actual dress I like but the hemline, piece hanging and uneven hem imo spoils the overall finished look, but that is my tastes only. The top half of this dress I love, the neckline and bodice area. The sleeves are appealing, feminine. The pattern of the fabric I don't like, just doesn't appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteThe decollete I do like, we don't normally see this with Sophie's necklines. Not a fan of her jewellery.
I like her hair like this. Much better than the other day when she wore the Prada jacket. The dress style is maybe OK for a reception, but the colour and print is not what I like. The uneven hem must not be too long otherwise it will dragging the floor, especially in the back.
ReplyDeleteSince I am a passionate dress-wearer myself, I often like her style, but I have to agree about the lack of fit and proper undergarments sometimes. As for this dress here, I don't think these are "her" colours.
ReplyDeleteA rather tasteless comment, if anyone needs advice on undergarments it is Q Maxima imo.
ReplyDeleteI love the boho style of the dress and the DofE wears it well, the amber tones suit her and the earrings are gorgeous.
Call me mad but I somehow like it. Especially the straw clutch she carried. Also the dress, perhaps not too enthusiastic about it, but it works on her.
ReplyDeleteMy reaction to the first couple of photos was “Wowza! — what a beautiful dress — Sophie looks amazing in it!” Given the length and the décolletage, though, I would keep this for informal evening events only. For daywear, I would modify it quite a bit but I think the basic design and fit of the dress make Sophie look stunningly slim and youthful!
ReplyDeleteThis is one dress that looks like it was designed to be worn long. It’s an unusual design and yet flattering nonetheless. I think DS has lost weight, she looks good, and far younger than her years.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
